ALBANY TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA: The mother who found her 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter hanging from the opposite ends of a dog leash in the basement of her home on September 23, told a 911 dispatcher minutes later that her son was bullied and had "made threats of doing this, but didn’t want to go alone."

In a recording of the Berks County emergency service call obtained by the Morning Call,  the mother of the siblings, identified as Lisa Snyder, was heard telling the dispatcher that Conner Snyder was "bullied" at school and had suicidal thoughts.

The dispatcher then relayed the message to the responding officers that Conner had specified in his threats of killing himself that he “didn’t want to go alone.”

Berks County District Attorney John Adams said he would not comment on the recording from Broadcastify, an online live stream and archive of emergency transmissions.

The 911 call that was made at 4:33 pm from a home at 2442 Route 143 near Kempton, was categorized by the dispatcher as a pediatric cardiac arrest with two patients. It was not immediately clear if the ages of the victims were specified in the call.

The first responders included medics from Kempton Fire Company, who rushed to the scene. According to an affidavit, the children were hanging from opposite ends of a dog leash that was wrapped around the main support beam in the basement. Each end of the wire lead was found wrapped around the children's necks.

Court documents say two chairs were found tipped over on the floor on either side of the victims' bodies.

“Any indication from the caller if the scene is safe or how these children ended up there?” a fire captain asks the dispatcher, as emergency crews neared the scene.

The dispatcher responded in the negative, only relaying the information about one of the juveniles being bullied and making threats that were conveyed by Lisa. "At this time, it should just be the mother and the two children on scene," the dispatcher added.

The children died on September 26, three days after they were airlifted to a nearby hospital. After their deaths, Lisa updated her Facebook profile with a photo with the saying, “Words scar, rumors destroy, bullies kill.”

She had refused to make any public comments about the 911 call. An investigation into the children's deaths is still ongoing.
