'Penn & Teller' Season 7 Episode 3 Preview: A slew of fun visual tricks but who will fool the gifted duo?
It's magic time! 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' Season 7 is returning with Episode 3 this week, and it's going to be exciting to watch whether the latest slew of magicians are able to trick Penn and Teller, the masters of magic and delusion themselves. In the upcoming episode, we'll get to see featured magicians including Caleb Wiles, DK, Wes Iseli and Alana showcase their skills. So there's a lot of magic and fun awaiting us. It remains to be seen which of these tricksters are able to fool Penn and Teller. If they fool them, they get to win exciting prizes.
In Episode 2, Eric Leclerc fooled Penn and Teller with a trick that saw him finding a single styrofoam peanut among thousands in a giant box. Penn noted that not only were they fooled but they were also in awe of Leclerc for performing "fabulous, original magic". He confessed that he and Teller had been attempting to do a "needle in a haystack" style trick for years. This was the only win for the night.
Meanwhile, Dave Sherman and Conan Liu had some visually stunning tricks up their sleeves. Dave fought with the Voice of the Inner Critic to spread his symbols of strength, purity and calm through a deck of cards. Conan left the audience awestruck by turning water into tea. That wasn't all, he then turned the tea branch into a tea girl. While Penn and Teller were stunned by the teapot trick, they quickly discovered that timing was crucial for this trick and neither Dave nor Conan managed to fool the professional magicians.
Ruben Vilagrand took a risk that didn't pay off. He performed a trick similar to one by Teller. He swallowed fish hooks and chewed up a thread, so when they were pulled out of his mouth, they were tied together like a fish on a line. Unfortunately, Teller knew this trick too wel, and they were able to map out their trick to figure out just how Vilagrand did it.
The fun part of the episode was watching Penn trying to trick Teller with a trick of his own. Penn had to pick out Teller's card by using the process of elimination and pick out cards that were exactly the wrong one in order to correctly show he knew which one Teller had picked. Using Piff the Magic Dragon as his mouthpiece, Teller revealed that Penn had half-fooled him. The show is hosted by Alyson Hannigan and airs on Mondays at 9 pm on The CW.
