A pedophile who was released on bail drove 250 miles to kidnap a 12-year-old girl whom he had groomed before taking her to different hotels and engaging in sexual activity with her, a court heard.

Bradley Fuller met the minor in an online chatroom before moving on to exchanging private messages. Despite knowing her age, the predator told her he was 23 and the pair began texting each other. The conversations quickly escalated to exchanging naked pictures of themselves and sending each other underwear via mail.

A teacher at the girl's school found out about the relationship despite Fuller using a fake Facebook identity to avoid detection. She immediately filed a complaint with the police, who then arrested him. Nonetheless, Fuller drove to the girl's home in Devon while under investigation and abducted the girl. He then took her out to hotels in the Midlands where they allegedly did "sexual stuff", police said.

Fuller, now 24, admitted to sexual activity with a child and abducting the youngster before he was sentenced at the Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court to four years in prison.

According to prosecutor Nick Tatlow, the duo began exchanging texts after she was gifted a mobile phone for her birthday. "The exchanges became sexual in nature. He used a false Facebook profile. They exchanged parcels including underwear," Tatlow said.

Fuller was arrested almost a month after the girl's safeguarding officer became aware of the relationship on April 23. "The girl said she was in love with him. The safeguarding officer saw sexual messages, photos, and videos on the phone," Tatlow added.

The pedophile admitted during a police interview that he was in a relationship with the girl and that they had been in contact. He even admitted to sending nude pictures of himself to the minor and receiving the same from her despite knowing her age.

Fuller, however, received bail soon after. But instead of repenting his actions, he traveled from his home in Stockport, Greater Manchester, to Devon and picked the girl from her residence. On August 30, her family reported her missing.

The 24-year-old drove up to Birmingham and spent the night in a hotel with the girl before moving to Stoke-on-Trent and booking into Hanley's Quality Hotel. Authorities located the pair on September 1 after tracking the teenager's phone activity, per reports.

While talking to the police, the girl admitted to doing "sexual stuff" in the Birmingham hotel before traveling to Stoke-on-Trent the next day and engaging in sexual activity once again. Having said that, Fuller has now pleaded guilty to abducting a child, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, two offenses of making indecent photographs of a child and two charges of sexual activity with a child.

However, Barry White, who represented Fuller, said his client had no previous convictions and asserted that it was the girl's suggestion to run away. "He is a loner. He knows he will receive a lengthy sentence," White said. However, Fuller was made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years and placed on the sex offenders' register for life.

"She was a 13-year-old child. She had convinced herself she was in love with you," Judge David Fletcher added. "She was encouraged to take part in sexual activity. These are serious matters. There was targeting of a vulnerable child."
