'Peacemaker' Episode 6 Review: An all-out war in the offing as Goff summons 'friends'

The focus of the episode is on the butterflies in what is otherwise a chapter that sees copious doses of blood, gore, and scintillating action

'Peacemaker' continues to impress as it hurtles towards the finale. Episode 6 titled 'Murn After Reading' answers the plaguing question of whether Leota Adebayo is alive. The episode gets to that part right off the bat while also revealing that Emilia Harcourt and John Economos know that Murn is a butterfly. The creature inside Murn also explains the origins of the butterflies and the one inside Goff was the leader that believed in inhabiting the residents while the one in Murn was a dissenter. 

The focus of the episode is on the butterflies in what is otherwise an episode that sees copious doses of blood and gore, and some scintillating action. In trademark James Gunn fashion, there's also ample comedy from Vigilante and also a hint of romance between Peacemaker and Harcourt. Detective Song realized that they had the wrong suspect and release the White Dragon who is bent on killing his son. They manage to obtain an arrest warrant for Peacemaker who is busy trying to communicate with Goff.

A botched escape attempt from the cops sees Goff become free and use Song as its host. It plans for action by summoning a legion of butterflies to takeover every walking person around them while also taking control of the entire PD. The good batch, in the meantime focus on a "cow" — an organism that gives the butterflies the amber nectar, their food source. Economos discovers the location and that forms the story of the next episode. 'Peacemaker' ensures that this episode is all about the bad guys while subtly implying that the anti-hero is more than just a killing machine.

Peacemaker's troubled past is still a continued storyline as he grapples with the guilt of killing his own brother. The redemption arc is anyone's guess, but the change of heart and perhaps his identity sure sees him earn a friend in Harcourt. The episode teases more moments between the two in the future, one that DC ardents have been asking for. It's still unclear how all this ends. With the Wh
