Paris Hilton's sex tape begins with 9/11 tribute, fans revisit shocking detail after watching new documentary
Almost 20 years ago the life of famous socialite and heiress Paris Hilton was changed forever after her sex tape with her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon was leaked. After her fans revisited that episode of her life following the release of her new documentary, 'This Is Paris,' many of them discovered a weird detail - her sex tape began with a dedication to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The detail left many shocked. "Just learnt that paris hilton’s sex tape opens with a dedication to 9/11??" one wrote, while another said, "Thinking about the 9/11 memorial slide at the beginning of paris hilton’s sex tape." A third user commented, "The thing that gave us true closure to 9/11 was this title card that, and this is true, opened the official release of Paris Hilton's sex tape." A fourth opined, "I feel like too many people forgot that Paris Hilton’s sex tape began with a dedication to 9/11." A fifth user wrote, "I remember finding a porn folder on a hard drive I was borrowing and it had an ancient copy of the Paris Hilton sex tape with a little intro dedication to remembering 9/11"

Others were empathetic to the trauma that Hilton had to endure following the sex tape leak that thurst her into the headlines for all the wrong reasons. "I watched 'This is Paris' last night and goddamn if it was not a surprisingly candid look at Paris Hilton's life. Media really did her dirty about the sex tape leak but she explores significant past trauma and shows how its affected every aspect of her life now," one wrote, while another commented, "The way Paris Hilton was slut shamed after her sex tape by the media when in reality she was an 18 year old girl who felt pressured by her boyfriend who would TODAY be considered a predator"

Hilton also opened up about how the incident left her scarred and haunts her even after 20 years in an interview with Mirror. “That was just the most painful experience,” she said, talking via Zoom from her parents’ home in Bel Air, California. “It made me really lose faith in love and trust and men and it just really breaks my heart that for the rest of my life I’m going to be judged on a private moment between two people that no one was ever supposed to see.”
The tape in question was released without her consent or knowledge, two years after her boyfriend, Salomon filmed it. “The way I was treated when this came out... people were so mean about me and making fun of me and villainizing me when I was just this young girl who had trusted somebody,” she said. “If this happened today it would be so different. So I am happy that things have changed and a woman is not going to be shamed for something like that and she is regarded as the victim. But back then I was not lucky enough to be treated that way.”
