LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Say cheeeese because the curse returns!

On Tuesday, June 18, Paramount Pictures revealed the teaser trailer for 'Smile 2', set to debut on October 18. The film promises more horror and suspense following its successful predecessor. Kyle Gallner returns from the original cast, joined by new actors.

Naomi Scott, known for her roles in various films, including 'Aladdin', features prominently in the trailer as Skye Riley. She has also released a song titled 'Blood on White Satin for the movie.

To build excitement, the marketing team of 'Smile 2' has taken an innovative approach. They previously placed actors with unsettling smiles at sports events to promote the first film.

For the sequel, they created a fictitious Instagram account for Skye Riley. This, coupled with exclusive footage revealed at CinemaCon, has heightened anticipation for the upcoming release.

Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon), a psychiatrist, witnesses the disturbing suicide of her patient, Laura Weaver, who had been experiencing terrifying visions. After Laura's death, Rose begins to have similar hallucinations.

She discovers a curse that is passed through traumatic events, causing victims to commit suicide with a creepy smile.

Rose and her ex-boyfriend, Joel, a police officer, uncover that the curse can only be broken by transferring it to someone else through another traumatic event. Despite her efforts to avoid the curse, Rose ultimately succumbs to it, dying in the same horrifying manner.

The curse then moves on to the next witness, continuing the cycle.

'Smile' is a chilling horror film that explores themes of trauma and fear, leaving audiences with a sense of lingering dread.

In 'Smile 2', Joel finds himself chased by a demon after witnessing Rose’s death and taking up her investigation. He has only seven days to prevent his own demise, facing intense pressure and scrutiny. Meanwhile, the demon also targets Skye Riley, an international pop star on a world tour.

The sequel is expected to delve into Joel’s quest to escape the curse and possibly pass it on, while Skye races against time to save herself.

Though details are scarce, there is speculation that the film might explore the origins of the curse, potentially as a prequel.

The official plot synopsis reads, "About to embark on a new world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control."
