'Pandora' Season 2 Episode 6 Preview: Ralen may or may not be dead, is human-Zatarian peace at stake?

In the promo for the episode, we see Jett crying over what seems like the corpse of Ralen but we can’t be sure if this is a misdirect or if Ralen is really dead

Episode 5 of ‘Pandora’ Season 2 had two major events occurring. One was that Zazie Nichols (Nicole Castillo-Mavromatis), the roommate of Jax (Priscilla Quintana) was not who she seemed to be. The episode revealed that she was actually a spy working for Tierney (Tina Casciani). This certainly changes a lot of things, considering Jax resolved to be a better friend to her in the episode. Zazie also has a sort of relationship with Jett (Akshay Kumar), who is increasingly becoming a more and more important part of the team, along with Jax and Xander (Oliver Dench).

The second event was the supposed death of Ralen (Ben Radcliffe). After the death (though that is not confirmed at all that she has died) of his wife, Ralen was grief-stricken. He went to Las Venus to become a prizefighter. Over there, his father arrived and bought him. But his father considered him a traitor and wanted him to die fighting in the ring. So, Xander and Ralen rigged the match, making sure that it would seem as if Ralen died during it. But the show left viewers in some confusion. We don’t know if he was pretend-dying or did he actually die for real. So, what is up next?

Episode 6 is ominously titled ‘Pay in Blood’. Does that have something to do with Ralen? While humans and Zatarians are now allies, Ralen’s supposed death cannot endear his father to Xander or Jax or even Jett. So, will they try and seek revenge? If they do so, the fragile peace that holds them together might shatter. Which, in turn, will not help Jax’s cause of uniting all races so that the Ancients don’t destroy their universe.

At the same time, we have to ask what Tierney is up to. Earlier in this season, we found out that she is Jax’s step-sister. That and the fact that she stands against everything Jax stands for doesn’t help matters. So we can be sure that the coming episode will see some sabotage planned by Tierney.

In the promo for the episode, we see Jett crying over what seems like the corpse of Ralen. He says, “I’m so sorry this happened to you. I only wanted to help you.” So, we can’t still be sure if this is a misdirect or if Ralen is really dead. On the other hand, we see Xander and Greg’s ship being attacked by Sumi warriors, making them land on a planet that seems to have a whole Western motif playing out.

In the last couple of episodes, it would seem as if the plot of the show -- and the very existence of that is a questionable proposition – has lost itself considerably. So, it is difficult to even guess what can happen up ahead. But we can at least hope that Eve (Jax’s mother who has been imprisoned by Earth comm) has a greater part to play in the story. So far, her resurrection from apparent death has played an important part in the story. It is only fair to assume she has a bigger role to play than just inform Jax about her step-siblings.

New episodes of ‘Pandora’ Season 2 arrive every Sunday at 8 pm ET on The CW.
