What happens in Episode 3 of 'Palm Royale'?
Maxine's eviction leads to a surprising turn of events when she becomes the talk of the town in Shiny Sheet. Feeling proud, she invites the women over, but her efforts backfire when they criticize her living situation.
Despite help from Linda (Laura Dern), the cocktail party ends in disappointment. Evelyn (Allison Janney) reveals the truth about Maxine's financial situation and suggests hosting a big party called the Beach Ball to make things better.
Maxine agrees to help Evelyn if she can retrieve a key from the safe deposit box. Linda leaves with the Rolodex, suggesting there's more to come.
What to expect from 'Palm Royale' Episode 4?
In the first few episodes, we see Maxine feeling hopeful about her future fortune. At the end of episode 3, Douglas goes back home, where he and Maxine start having sex.
However, Evelyn delivers the surprising news to Maxine that when Norma passes away, her wealth will be placed in a trust benefiting the Palm Beach Pedigree Feline Society—not to Douglas.
Evelyn admits she's really close to Norma, and Norma says she wouldn't trust Douglas with her inheritance.
Learning that Norma's money is going to charity, Maxine's last hope for wealth is a conservatorship, which puts her in a legal battle against Robert (Ricky Martin). Douglas may play a crucial role in this conflict due to his relationship with Norma.
This situation adds tension because Maxine and Robert have clashed before. Robert's relationship with Norma gives him a lot to lose. But with Maxine threatening his stability, we think Robert will fight back hard.
As for the Rolodex that Linda took with her? The infamous Rolodex holds secrets that Evelyn is eager to obtain. While we don't know its contents yet, we suspect it contains secrets about the town's women.
If true, it wouldn't surprise the fans to see Evelyn searching for it to gain control over Palm Beach after Norma's death.
Linda got the Rolodex at the pool house with Robert, but why does she want it? Since Evelyn is her stepmother, there may be a personal interest. However, could Linda be hiding something herself? The Rolodex will surely play a significant role in the upcoming episodes.
