Man records himself raping teen, calls her sister, and forces her to watch video of her sister being assaulted
A pedophile, who reportedly posed as a Housing and Development Board (HDB) officer and sexually assaulted two teenager sisters, was handed a maximum prison sentence of 20 years' preventive detention on Monday.
Justice Valerie Thean, while delivering the prison sentence, said that the 54-year-old cleaner, identified as Hussain Samat's offenses were "shocking" and "of grave concern." The Judge also added that the accused's actions "demonstrated a high level of premeditation," according to Today Online.
The High Court judge in Singapore also said that Samat had "concocted a scheme" and "repeatedly engaged in threats of physical violence in order to coerce (his) victims."
Agreeing with the prosecution, led by deputy public prosecutors David Khoo and Chew Xin Ying, the judge said that a "substantial term of preventive detention must be imposed... to protect the public." The punishment also included caning, however, Hussain will be spared because he is above the age of 50.
