Netflix's 'Ozark' ended on a deadly note with many cliffhangers for the next season. At the end of Season 2, Marty Byrde's (Jason Bateman) riverboat casino picks up but he plans to flee from Lake Ozark. His wife, Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney), thwarts his plans of running away to the Gold Coast and decides to stay back with the family.

Wendy's evil side first came through in 'Ozark' when she ordered the murder of Cade Langmore (Trevor Long) after he attacked Charlotte while trying to find Marty's money. Daughter of Wendy and Marty, Charlotte is utterly unhappy in the Byrde clan and wishes to be freed.

Played by actress Sofia Hublitz, the character is going through a rebellious phase to maneuver her life independently and take it where she wishes it to go. Recently, Bateman teased a time jump when he told reporters, "We pick up about six months later."

He added, "The casino is up and running, and that provides us with more opportunities both positive and negative, some that are tempting and some that are calming. That affects the family in interesting ways, and certainly the relationship that Marty has with Wendy."

With all the new changes, Charlotte might end up staying with the family. "I’m curious what will happen with the kids at this point, Charlotte is just annoying and can’t keep her mouth shut while Jonah is level-headed and is probably going to somehow become more involved with what’s going on and his dad’s business," one viewer wrote on Reddit while another said, "Charlotte will stay with family."

Penning down his predictions for the next season, a fan posted, "Charlotte cools down, realizes she is not safe on her own... basically swap roles with jonah and starts helping the business becoming a main hostess in the casino."

Writer Chris Mundy recently dropped some major hints in an interview with Thrillist. "As we delve into the marriage more next year — to me, the show is always about the family and the marriage first. If he and Wendy are operating kind of on the same page, but not completely, it gets trickier. At least a lot more emotionally complex."

While no official release date has been announced, the series is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2020.
