With 'Ozark' Season 3 set to hit Netflix this year, fans are eager to find out what's in store for the Byrde family. Recently, after the series won big awards at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards, Jason Bateman who plays Marty in the series teased a six-month time jump.

"We pick up about six months later," Bateman told reporters. "The casino is up and running, and that provides us with more opportunities both positive and negative, some that are tempting and some that are calming. That affects the family in interesting ways, and certainly the relationship that Marty has with Wendy."

There are many fan theories floating around on Reddit and some seem to be pointing towards a Mexican drug cartel vs Kansas City mob war. "I would love to see a cartel vs KC mob war," one fan wrote on Reddit, adding, "We’ve seen the cartel only in little groups of people at a time. I think the biggest group was the pilot episode, with Del and his henchmen at the trucking company massacre. And then some more in the flashback episode in Mexico. But I’d love to see the show try and depict some cartel troops, and some fire and fury from them, and what kind of capability they have to pull off major shit like that, north of the border."

Another viewer posted on Reddit, "I’m thinking season 3 will be a huge focus on the KC mob. They’re the primary enemies and antagonists now, with Darlene being the only Snell- I’m sure she’ll be in it for a couple to few episodes but no more than that, she seems like a side character as of now." One fan commented, "KC mob obviously gets in the picture (on that note, why did they blew his office? Casino is just approved and they are expecting their share as Marty promised. By doing so they can piss off the cartel and start a war... get nothing, get killed... maybe I missed something)."

Some fans think otherwise. "Ozark is dope but the plot holes are everywhere. The most amusing being the KC Mob having any sort of power. The Cartel would snap their fingers and erase those yokels. The mob in 2018 having any clout is pretty laughable," one tweet read.

The makers have hinted at the release of the new season in 2020, there is a lot to expect with tensions brewing between the role of Ruth Langmore in Marty and Wendy's life.
