The core DNA of 'Outlander' has always been its love stories -- starting with Claire and Jamie Frazer to Roger and Brianna Mackenzie -- across time and through every adversity.

Back in season 1, we saw Claire grapple with her adulterous marriage to Jamie since she was already married to Frank Randall. We also saw Roger chase Brianna 200 years into the past to marry her and accept her son as his own, despite not knowing if he is the father.

While Isaiah Morton does not know all this, he knows true love when he sees it. He knows that Jamie and Roger would do anything for their wives just like he would for Allie Brown. "I am a fool," he tells Jamie, Roger, and Claire, when he comes back to fetch Allie against all commonsense.

He is risking his life among the Brown clan who would shoot him on sight for laying with Allie and destroying her prospects of marriage to a rich man. He is also an adulterer since he already has a wife through an arranged marriage. But all of that matters not because Isaiah and Allie (pregnant with Isaiah's child) are miserable without each other.

So Jamie, ever the romantic, helps the couple get away despite incurring the suspicions of the Brown clan. The Brown patriarch thankfully is too scared of Governor Tryon's power to openly challenge Jamie at the end of the episode but the resentment is simmering just underneath.

The decision to help the couple could come back to haunt the Frazers despite Claire's hopeful words that "some good would come of it". The next episode will also see Claire and Jamie part ways again since Keziah has also got tonsillitis like his brother Josiah who she had treated before this in episode 1.

Unable to do surgery in the wilds, she makes a decision to return to their homestead. Jamie also tells Roger to escort his wife. Roger thinks it is because he did not handle the Isaiah situation well before Jamie got there but feels relieved when Claire reminds him that Jamie entrusted him with the one thing most precious to him -- her.

Baby Beardsley also finds a home at Brownsville to a couple who had just lost their baby. Jamie, however, takes a moment to ask Claire if she would like to have another child to raise together as parents -- something they never did with Brianna.

Claire is moved but says that while she is even more in love with him for proposing it, she is grateful for what she has with him and needs nothing more to be happy. It is probably a good thing that Claire and Roger are headed back to Frazer's Ridge.

Stephen Bonnet has already made his presence felt, leaving a coin in baby Jemmy's house and probably watching the house. Brianna, with the instinct of a mother, is on edge till Marsali calms her down. But it is inevitable that Mr. Bonnet is going to come calling and he will have some villainous plans for Jemmy and Brianna. Hopefully, Claire and Roger will reach home before he comes knocking.

'Outlander' airs on Sundays at 8:00 pm ET/PT. The episode will be aired on STARZ, the STARZ app, and STARZ On Demand.
