'Outer Range' Season 2 Ending Explained: Startling mystery behind Autumn's name revealed

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Outer Range' Season 2 is streaming on Prime Video on May 16, 2024, and the seven-episode series ends with the mystery of the hole and the Abbott family as some questions get answered while new questions arise. 'Outer Range' is created by Brian Watkins.
The final episode begins with Wayne Tillerson (Will Patton) finding out about his son Luke Tillerson (Shaun Sipos) killing Billy Tillerson (Noah Reid). Wayne calls Luke in anger and curses him for killing Billy who he clearly loved more. Wayne burns his ranch down in a fit of rage.
Autumn Rivers (Imogen Poots) and Luke drive to get Amy Abbott (Olive Abercrombie) from a commune as Luke confesses about his crime to Autumn and talks about a vision where he is leading a cult with Autumn.
Perry Abbott (Tom Pelphery) stands by the hole with a younger version of his father Royal Abbott (Teaguen Arbogast) who asks him not to mess with nature and pushes him down the hole. Perry comes out of the hole on the night he killed Trevor Tillerson (Matt Lauria).

Perry comes back and watches the past version of himself die at the hands of Trevor
Perry reaches the bar after he realizes that he has come out the same day as the day he killed Trevor in a fight when he watches his mother Cecilia Abbott (Lili Taylor) watching a television program.
Perry rushes upon watching the fight go on and in the nick of time, watches his past version being killed by Trevor. Perry later throws his younger version into the hole before retrieving his wedding ring.
Wayne goes near the hole and in his stream of consciousness talks about the hopelessness of his life after the death of Billy. He talks to the hole and asks for a sign of the future. He is overwhelmed by what he sees and jumps into the hole.
Autumn meets Rebecca and retrieves Amy from the commune
Autumn reaches the commune and threatens Rebecca Abbott (Kristen Connolly) to tell Amy about her spite. Rebecca doesn't recognize her at first but eventually Autumn tells secrets that only the two of them would know. Rebecca allows Autumn to take Amy but while going Autumn smears her mouth with the time mineral. Rebecca sees a vision where she is a part of the cult too.
By the time Royal Abbott reaches the commune, Autumn is already gone. Royal and Cecilia try to talk her out of taking Amy but fail to do so and call Deputy Sheriff Joy (Tamara Podemski) to do everything to save Amy.
Joy catches up with Autumn and Luke and punctures their vehicle. Amy however holds Autumn hostage. By the time Royal reaches the hole, he has a stroke while driving.
Amy reaches the future and calls herself Autumn.
Despite the best efforts of Joy, Amy falls into the hole and the hole covers itself. Autumn, who has been shot by Joy recovers in the hospital. Cecilia takes Royal to the hospital where Joy tells her about Amy.
Autumn and Royal recover from their injuries as Perry reaches home where he finds Royal and Amy waiting for him. The mystery about how Royal is in the hospital is a mystery that will be dealt with in the next season probably.
Amy finds herself in the future being discovered by backpackers. She doesn't have any memory and doesn't have any memory but when asked about her name, she calls herself Autumn.
Royal has a vision where he is told by his family that time is a river and this is his destiny.
