SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO: 'Outer Range' season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Thursday, May 16, 2024, carrying forward the story of the Abbott family and the Wyoming town where a hole serves as a gateway to time travel.
'Outer Range' is created by Brian Watkins and features veteran actor Josh Brolin as Royal Abbott, the head of the Abbott Ranch who carries secrets about his identity and knows the secret about the hole.

Abbott Family and Tillerson Family conflict and mystery of the Hole in 'Outer Range' Season 1
The first season revolves around the lives of the Abbott Family where Royal (Josh Brolins) and Cecilia Abbott (Lili Taylor), who have two sons Perry (Tom Pelphery) and Rhett (Lewis Pullman).
Perry's wife Rebecca (Kristen Connolly) goes missing, only to reappear in the final episode to reveal that she has been working with the antagonist Autumn Rivers (Imogen Poots).
Perry kills Trevor Tillerson (Matt Lauria) and Royal helps him cover up the murder by throwing Trevor's body into a mysterious hole.
Autumn Rivers is a woman who stays on Abbott's land and inspects the hole. Her keen interest in the mystery surrounding the hole unsettles Royal Abbott, who has guarded its secret for ages.
Autumn pushes Royal into the hole, propelling him two years into the future. There, he learns from his wife that he had died some time ago, and his land is now being exploited by a cult known as BY9.
Upon his return to the present, he reveals his secret to Perry who jumps into the hole trying to escape his present life.
The truth about Autumn and Royal
In Episode 7, Royal Abbott spills the beans about his life, admitting he was born in 1886 and somehow ended up with the Abbots through time travel as a child. Since then, he's been dedicated to guarding the hole's secret.
Autumn is revealed to be Rebecca's daughter Amy's future version. She is Royal Abbott's granddaughter who has come from the future to explore the mysteries of the hole.
Autumn is fixated on killing Royal Abbott and is so obsessed with the hole almost to the point of worshipping it and leading a cult to explore it. Perry's fate becomes a mystery as he vanishes into the hole, potentially catapulting him to any point in time.
