Don’t get me wrong that this show is silly because it is and that the USP of this series. Sometimes having fun is just what you need and ‘Outer Banks’ is undoubtedly one of the fun TV shows we have ever seen. It was destined to be a hit and is one of streamer’s prized possessions, so whether you like it or not, Season 3 is undoubtedly going to be a smash hit among the target audience.

Season 3 sees the Pogues going on another adventure

So, Season 3 begins with Pogues being stranded in a desert in the Caribbean. From the very first scene, we realized that it will be another gorgeous journey filled with an exhilarating adventure. Well, the setting looks like a dream for any youngster and Pogues feel like staying there for an eternity. However, their lives aren’t that easy and soon they realize that they have to embark on another adventure. The gang of youngsters, including Josh B (Chase Stokes) and Sarah (Madelyn Cline), is ready to resume their hunt for the mythical city of El Dorado. The city is filled with treasures and anyone who gets their hands on them, never have to work in their entire lives. Obviously, they are not alone and the duo of Ward and Rafe are back with their own shenanigans. On the other hand, a new villain named Carlos Singh, along with his army of mercenaries, also embarks on a journey to find the mythical city.

Now, we won’t share much plot details to spoil the fun, but we can say that the show has definitely gone bigger this time around and the stakes are much higher this time around. Season 3 also follows the same framework of the last two seasons which basically means that the show starts with a bang, gets a bit boring in the middle and becomes unbelievably electrifying at the end. The latest edition is nothing different and has a lot of moments that will leave you in awe. Also, the action sequences go well-beyond expectations this time around and Season 3 is show’s most-violent season yet. All the ardent fans of the series will be surprised to see the unexpected fist-fights in the third edition. But the best part is that viewers won’t feel like these sequences have been stuffed for the sake of action and completely fit the story.

As far as performances are concerned, Josh B and Madelyn Cline are really amazing and the chemistry between them is a treat to watch. Meanwhile, all the other actors do their job superbly.

However, there’s one thing that seems to be a bit weak this time around and the problem lies in the villain. The season introduced a new villain in the form of Carlos Singh, but he never looks formidable. That’s one problem that even viewers will feel throughout the season. But the show still manages to pack a punch because it continues to focus on its adventure story.

Is 'Outer Banks' Season 3 worth watching?

All in all, ‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 might feel uneven at various points, but it continues to be the perfect escape for the viewers. The relationship drama is much higher this time, but it never loses its focus from the mind-boggling adventure. The series has already been renewed for Season 4 and the way how the latest edition concluded, we are in for a wild next chapter.

Silly, yet exhilarating.

*** stars for ‘Outer Banks’ Season 3.
