WASHINGTON, DC: On Thursday, September 28, US Senator John Fetterman sent a pack of Bud Light to James Comer, chairman of the house Oversight Committee, after he held the first hearing of Republicans' impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

Fetterman also took to X, formerly Twitter, to share that he asked his staff to deliver the gift for Comer and his team in front of the his office door in Congress.

"This morning, I directed my staff to deliver a gift to congratulate and salute Representative Comer and his Team America TM squad as they embark on their historic impeachment journey," the Senator wrote.

A note attached to the beer pack read, "To Rep. Comer & his squad. A profile in courage can make a guy thirsty. Congratulations, this Bud’s for you. Hugs & kisses: John Fetterman."

Fetterman's Bud Light post went viral online and garnered over 1.5 million views, at the time of writing.

His move also left the internet divided. While some trolled the democrat for his action, others came out to support his move.

John Fetterman trolled over Bud Light post

Several social media users trolled Fetterman after he sent his humorous present to Comer. "Our government has turned into a reality show, and being produced by MTV. We’re convinced," one wrote.

"He sure doesn't act or dress like a professional adult!" one commented. "Pretty funny but lets use your words of advice, doesn't he have better things to be doing?" asked another.

"Politics and beer? Now that's a mix! But on a serious note, are we in high school or running a country?" added another. "Sad state of affairs on Capitol Hill," a fifth commented.

One said, "Wow! You got a job as a beer delivery guy? Good for you! I think they usually require a uniform for that though."

Another added, "You’re a parody." One user mentioned, "This isn't high school."

While another remarked, "Unbelievably Cringe."

While some internet users trolled Fetterman for his move, others had a field day and came together to support the Senator.

"Hahaaaa this is great!" one commented. "This is pretty solid. You do crack me up trolling," one shared.

"That is hilarious. You have a great sense of humour. Keep it up," added another.

"Lmfao. I am right-leaning but absolutely love this guy" one mentioned. "Epic," a fifth commented.

One said, "I knew I liked this guy. He just keeps getting better and better."

Another added, "People are hating on this move but it’s admittedly one of the funnier jokes I’ve seen a congressman make that wasn’t too harsh or rude."

John Fetterman previously 'dared' Republicans to impeach Joe Biden

Earlier this man Fetterman dismissed the plans of impeaching Biden and said that he believes doing so can end up hurting the GOP instead.

"Go ahead. Do it, I dare you," the Pennsylvania senator told the press on Capitol Hill, as per The Guardian.

"If you can find the votes, go ahead, because you’re going to lose. It’s a loser," he continued. "It would just be like a big circle jerk on the fringe right," Fetterman added at the time.

Days before sending Bud Light as a present to Comer, Fetterman also mocked Republicans' plans to impeach Biden by clutching his head in fake horror and saying, "Oh my God, really?" before bursting into a laugh.

"Ooooh, don't do it," he added before walking off, the Reuters reported at the time.

Fetterman's choice of beer for his tongue-in-cheek gift to Comer also seemingly appeared as a move to mock Republicans after conservatives came together to boycott Bud Light as the brand featured transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney in one of its recent campaigns.
