Osama Bin Laden's niece has revealed that she has been "attacked more for supporting Donald Trump than being related to the 9/11 mastermind".

Bin Laden's niece, Noor bin Ladin, opened up on how she has "lost a few so-called friends" ever since she decided to endorse Trump last month. Noor got candid in an open letter which was published in The Spectator on Thursday, October 8, The Sun reported.

In the letter, she wrote, "From a sociological standpoint, it is quite interesting that in some elitist circles being pro-Trump has caused me more grief than carrying the name bin Ladin." In an earlier letter, she had shared that she has been a Trump supporter "since he announced he was running in the early days in 2015". She is now of the opinion that "coming out publicly was a step too far for some, and the vitriol I received for stating my political beliefs revealed unflattering sides to certain characters."

She spoke about the various reasons why she supports Trump which includes how he "stood up to China, kept America out of new wars, solidified ties with Israel, overturned the disastrous Iran deal and obliterated Isis". While Noor was initially endorsing Trump, she revealed that she felt compelled to address Americans as she is "highly distressed by the blatant erosion at various levels of your most basic individual rights and freedoms as guaranteed by your Bill of Rights, from arbitrary censorship of speech to unlawful, politically motivated abuses of justice".

The 33-year-old further added that she is an "unlikely messenger at first glance" but that her "heart is in the right place". She then praised Trump and called him "the only leader who can save us from a bleak future" and claimed that only Trump could prevent another 9/11 from happening, according to the Sun.

Noor was just 14 years old when her uncle had orchestrated the September 11 terrorist attacks that took the lives of almost 3,000 Americans. Her father, Yeslam bin Ladin, is the older, half-brother of Osama while her mother, Carmen Dufour is a Swiss author, a NY Post report revealed. Post the 9/11 attacks, her mother had written a book in 2004 about her life in the bin Laden family. The book was titled 'Inside the Kingdom: My Life in Saudi Arabia'.

Noor was raised in Switzerland along with her two sisters.

Many social media users took to commenting on the news and called out Noor. One such user wrote, "To the MAGAs, you are in good company in supporting Trump. Noor Bin Ladin, Niece of Osama Bin Laden, Endorses Donald Trump in US Presidential Elections 2020 !!! If Trump wins, the WH would be populated by terrorists!!"

Another user commented and shared, "Trump found support among Osama bin Laden's niece on Saturday, Noor bin Ladin told the New York Post she believed another 9/11-inspired attack could happen if Mr Biden were to win in November. Mr Trump, in her opinion, would be the only one to prevent that type of attack. Right." Another wrote, "Osama bin Laden's niece, Noor bin Ladin, warns that if Donald Trump loses the election against Joe Biden another 9/11-style attack may be just around the corner. Now Trump has terrorists threatening America. #VoteBlueToEndThisNightmare."
