LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In 'Orphan Black: Echoes', Lucy (Krysten Ritter) finally discovers the truth about her own creation and how she was made. However, Jules's (Amanda Fix) past remains shrouded in mystery.

In 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 4, Jules, driven by curiosity about her shared past with Lucy, embarks on a mission to find truth.

'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 5, set in 2030, delves into the origins of Lucy and explores her relationship with Kira (Keeley Hawes).

In the past, Professor Eleanor Miller (Rya Kihlstedt) and young Kira (August Winter) were in love. Eleanor wants children but finds out she may not be able to have any. Kira supports her by giving birth to their son, Lucas (Jaeden Noel).

Lucas is the boy in the picture that Kira showed to Lucy. After Eleanor's death, Kira tried to create a printout of Eleanor, but it turned out as Lucy, who looks like a young Eleanor.

However, Kira reveals she did not create Jules, leaving the question of who is responsible for her creation.

Who might have created Jules?

Lucy asks why Kira created Jules. Puzzled, Kira explains that she only printed Lucy and then deactivated the machine.

Lucy often mentions that she looked like Jules when she was younger, suggesting that someone made two clones of Eleanor. This revelation implies that while Kira created Lucy, another unknown party is responsible for creating Jules.

There is a strong possibility that Jules is also a clone of Eleanor. However, like Lucy, Jules does not remember anything about her past.

Lucy's arm bears a matching UV tattoo that Eleanor had gotten with Kira, but Jules does not have this mark on her arm, making the theory less plausible.

However, it could be suggested that Jules is actually young Eleanor from before she met Kira. This could explain why Jules does not have a tattoo.

It's also possible that someone else from the Additive Foundation created Jules for their own secret reasons. Given the Foundation's complex and secretive nature, it's likely that someone within the organization had their own motives for making Jules. Perhaps someone else was also in love with Eleanor.

They might have wanted their own version of Eleanor after her death. This could mean that someone else, who had their own feelings for Eleanor, sought to create a clone or replicate her to hold onto her memory or fulfill their personal desires.

There's also the possibility that while making Lucy, Kira may have inadvertently created two versions of Eleanor: one as a teenager and one as an adult.

It's possible that Kira was lying and actually created two clones of Eleanor. Kira was in love with Eleanor.

Kira might have wanted to create all versions of Eleanor after her death, driven by a deep emotional impact. Eleanor’s death could have affected Kira profoundly, leading her to pursue a way to preserve Eleanor’s essence through cloning.

By creating different versions of Eleanor, Kira could have been trying to hold onto the various facets of her partner’s life - her youth, her adult self, and perhaps even her potential future.

This scenario would explain the presence of multiple clones resembling Eleanor at different stages of life. If Kira's attempt to create Lucy involved replicating Eleanor at various ages, it could result in both a young Eleanor and an older version, leading to the creation of Jules as one of these stages.

There is a possibility that Kira may not remember creating multiple versions of Eleanor and only recalls the creation of Lucy. This could be because of emotional trauma.

It would be intriguing to see how Jules uncovers her past in Episode 6.
