What is Operation MAGA? Trump campaign works at full speed, Internet says 'they only care about winning'

The new operation that is part of Trump’s re-election campaign will feature Vice President Mike Pence and members of the Trump family in key battleground states

The Trump re-election campaign is working at “full speed” with the launching of Operation MAGA. The new operation comes after President Donald Trump tested positive for Covid-19. He is being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The new operation will feature Vice President Mike Pence and members of the Trump family in key battleground states. Fox News reported that Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien, who also tested positive for the virus, is working remotely for Operation MAGA but is not slowing down. A senior campaign official told Fox News, “Bill is working remotely, but absolutely remains in total control of the campaign.”

A day after Trump was admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, the campaign brain trust, which includes Stepien, deputy campaign manager Justin Clark and senior adviser Jason Miller, held a conference call as reported by Daily Mail. The three told their staffers to launch Operation MAGA which comprises "rallying everybody for the last 30 days of the campaign."

What is Operation MAGA?

Donald Trump’s re-election campaign called Trump-Pence MAGA 2020 kicked off with Operation MAGA on October 3. The Operation MAGA will have a full marshaling of top-level surrogates, campaign coalitions, and Trump supporters to rally behind the president and carry the campaign forward until he returns to the trail.

As per a press release of the campaign, “Operation MAGA will fire up the entire MAGA universe to keep President Trump’s campaign at full speed until our Commander-in-Chief returns to the campaign trail.” As per the release, Pence and members of the Trump family will be a key part of Operation MAGA. The press release reads, “Vice President Mike Pence will make in-person campaign appearances in key states, as will First Family members Donald J Trump Jr, Eric Trump and Lara Trump. The campaign will host virtual events until the vice presidential debate on October 7, when the in-person events will commence.”

Under Operation MAGA, Vice President Pence will begin a swing through key states. His campaign trail will take place following the October 8 Vice Presidential debate that Pence has against Democrat VP candidate Kamala Harris.

Trump’s campaign manager for 2020 Bill Stepien said, “Vice President Mike Pence, the First Family, our coalitions, and our grassroots supporters will be out in full force to show the real enthusiasm behind the President’s re-election and to show we’re working as hard as he always does. We also encourage all of the President’s supporters to pick up the banner themselves by volunteering in our grassroots Army for Trump, flying their Trump flags, putting out more yard signs, and wearing their MAGA gear proudly.”

Operation MAGA will also deploy its coalition organizations like Women for Trump, Black Voices for Trump, Latinos for Trump, and others. As soon as the news came that Operation MAGA has been launched, it got social media into a frenzy. Some felt the campaign, like many of Trump rallies, can infect many with virus. Others showed their solidarity with Trump. A user wrote on the threat that the plan can pose, “Yikes. Operation MAGA sounds like an effort to infect millions of non-college educated white people with coronavirus. Folks, the emperor has no clothes. In fact, he might be on supplemental oxygen right now.”

Bashing the plan of this operation, a user wrote, “What an irresponsible plan. They care more about winning and power than keeping our country safe from the rest of the world and themselves.” Another wrote, “Watch the sh*t- show part two.” Others urged Democrats to fight, “Dems get back to work !!! Go full throttle on Republicans . They play dirty enough by taking the high road. Get in there and fight !”
