LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Only Murders in the Building' has received critical acclaim since its debut in 2021. With three seasons already available to stream on Hulu, fans can't keep calm for Season 4 to drop.

The show has gained popularity for its star-studded cast including Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin, paired with cameos from Hollywood legends such as Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd. The neat balance between mystery and comedy is yet another factor that makes the show fan-favorite.

Mabel Mora lacks a stable love life in 'Only Murders in the Building'

In Season 1, Mabel was romantically involved with Oscar Torres (played by Aaron Dominguez), her childhood friend who returned after being wrongly convicted for the murder of their friend Zoe ten years earlier.

Season 2 missed Oscar's presence and Mabel started dating Alice Banks (Cara Delevingne), a gallery owner. This relationship also wrapped up by the end of the season and in Season 3, Mabel found a new partner.

Actor Jesse Williams appeared as Tobert to play the love interest of Selena Gomez's character in Season 3. They shared a wholesome chemistry but their romance came to an abrupt end when Tobert moved to Los Angeles while Mabel decided to stay in New York.

Fans often feel frustrated with how showrunners have been dealing with Mabel Mora's love life. Selena Gomez's character gets a new love interest every season. This often hampers the development of her character arc.

'Only Murders in the Building' Season 4 has a chance at redemption

Apart from the new murder mystery, we hope Season 4 to solve the Mabel problem once and for all. It could be best done by reuniting her with Tobert, thus breaking the endless loop of hopeless relationships.

Tobert's presence in Season 3 was like a breath of fresh air. He is a camera operator, who was hired by Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd).

Tobert is charming, witty, and, let's face it, a bit of a wildcard. From the moment he crosses paths with Mabel (Selena Gomez), there's a spark.

The way they challenge each other is both playful and intense, making their interactions some of the most engaging of the season. Unlike others who have come and gone in Mabel's life, Tobert feels like a perfect match, both as a partner in solving the mystery and potentially as something more.

Tobert brings out the best in Mabel in 'Only Murders in the Building'

Mabel, a character known for her tough exterior and guarded heart, finds in Tobert someone who can match her intellect and passion. Their dynamic is intriguing because it’s not just about romance—it's about two sharp minds trying to outmaneuver each other while also working together.

What makes Tobert so crucial to the show is how he helps bring Mabel out of her shell. Throughout Season 3, Mabel is often seen grappling with her past, her insecurities, and the uncertainty of her future.

Tobert's presence pushes her to focus on the present, to keep moving forward even when everything else seems to be falling apart. He doesn't overshadow her but rather supports her in a way that allows her to shine brighter.

One of the best things about Tobert is that he doesn't just connect with Mabel; he also fits in well with the rest of the cast. Charles and Oliver may feel a bit threatened by him, but his contributions to the investigation are undeniable.

Interestingly, Season 4 has a scope for reuniting Tobert and Mabel, especially since Mabel will be moving to LA with Charles and Oliver.
