'One last stunt': Internet has a field day over George Santos threatening to expose House colleagues in epic meltdown
ORLANDO, FLORIDA: New York congressman George Santos vented his frustrations against the House Ethics Committee during a three-hour livestream on X, where he labeled the committee chair with a derogatory term and referred to the members as 'hypocrites.'
This outburst follows a scathing 56-page report released by the committee on November 16, after nearly nine months of investigation.
The report detailed allegations that Santos misused campaign funds for expenses such as Botox treatments, designer goods, subscriptions to the adult content platform OnlyFans, and extravagant trips with his husband.
Additionally, the report outlined claims of attempts to conceal these transactions.
George Santos hosts a livestream
Amid the controversy, Michael Guest, the Republican chair of the committee, introduced a resolution on November 23 to expel George Santos from the House. A vote on the resolution is anticipated next week.
In response, Santos hosted a livestream on the night of November 24 where he expressed the belief that expulsion was imminent.
During the livestream, he derisively mocked committee members, accusing them of casting votes while hungover, engaging in infidelity, and labeling them as 'hypocrites.' The situation continues to escalate as it moves towards a critical vote.
During a conversation on X Spaces on Friday night, George Santos candidly acknowledged the likelihood of his expulsion when the resolution reaches the floor, stating, "I've done the math over and over, and it doesn't look really good."
Santos directed pointed criticism at Michael Guest, urging the chairman to "be a man and stop being a p***y and call the damn motion." No member of the committee was spared from his scathing remarks, with Santos accusing them of acting as though they were "in ivory towers with white pointy hats" and deeming them "untouchable."
Internet reacts
George Santos' livestream has been met with trolls with people tweeting, "So, just days before the House will be voting on whether to expel George Santos, he’s threatening to expose his House colleagues who are having extramarital affairs. Guess we’ll now have to wonder about what’s really motivating House members who vote AGAINST expelling Santos."

Despite surviving two previous expulsion votes, George Santos now faces a shifting landscape as many of his colleagues, who initially opposed the efforts, express support for his expulsion.
This change in stance is attributed to the findings of the committee's extensive investigation into a myriad of alleged misconduct by Santos.
