Sir David Attenborough, Martha Stewart and Joan Collins are among the many A-lister celebrities who have opted to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. However, the 72-year-old pop star Olivia Newton-John recently said that she will not be taking the shot, at least not right now.

In an interview with The Herald Sun, the 'Grease' star who also happens to be a 'natural' medicine advocate, was asked if she would get the shot and she responded, "Not at this point, no." While Newton-John, who is suffering from stage-four breast cancer, did not share any explanation, her daughter Chloe Lattanzi, who had given the interview along with her mother shared anti-vaxxer conspiracy theories.

Lattanzi, who runs a medicinal cannabis farm in Oregon with her beau James Driskill, claimed that she was not an anti-vaxxer and said, "I'm not an anti-vaxxer, I'm anti putting mercury and pesticides in my body, which are in a lot of vaccines." She further added, "To me, real medicine is what comes from the earth. I think people trust vaccines because the doctor says it is safe, I used to."

At the moment, Lattanzi believes that vaccines are not safe because she claims to have done research regarding the same. She does not have anything to support her claims. She even insisted, "If I had a chance to take herbs and plants as a baby rather than have toxins injected into me I would have done that." This comes just a month after Lattanzi had outed herself as an anti-vaxxer in a now-deleted Instagram post. In this post, she had said that face masks were harmful.

In February, when Newton-John appeared on the Australian talk show, 'The Project' she said she felt "fantastic" and added, "I'm doing really well. Thank you for your love and support, I really appreciate it." She is battling cancer for the third time. In 2018, the singer revealed her stage 4 breast cancer had spread to her back with a tumor at the base of her spine.

Lattanzi had posted that it was natural medicine that saved her mother's life. Lattanzi said, "Natural medicine saved my mum's life. So natural medicine is the party I belong to. Not Republican!!! Not Democrat!" Here, she is referring to her mother battling breast cancer and her advertised use of medical marijuana. She then added, "What do you do when you don't fit in a box!? When you are a vegan, cannabis growing, LGBTQ supporting Buddhist that doesn't agree with vaccines? Anyone relate?"

She had clarified that she does wear face masks in public but added that they were still harmful. She wrote, "I wear a mask when inside public places. Doesn’t mean I think they aren’t causing harm to little ones, and poor people that aren’t sick that have to suffocate 9 hour days. That when asked have cried to me because they can’t breathe and are now having health problems. I’m gonna regret this. (sic)." This post was later deleted but it must be noted that Newton-John did use medical marijuana to alleviate pain, but she had also undergone radiation therapy and taken estrogen blockers.

Contrary to Lattanzi's claim, the World Health Organization (WHO) website states that, "The prolonged use of medical masks, when properly worn, does not cause CO2 intoxication nor oxygen deficiency."
