Oliver Peck’s blackface photos spark outrage, fans call him ‘racist’ and want to boycott 'Ink Master'
Oliver Peck, American tattoo artist and one of the judges on ‘Ink Master’, come under fire for painting his face black.
According to TMZ reports, the tattoo artist wore a blackface over the years on multiple occasions, dressing as a black person for Halloween. A couple of his blackface pictures are making the rounds on the internet, sparking widespread outrage.
Back in the day, Peck had proudly shown off his blackface on MySpace. The images, which are now re-circulating on social media, have jangled everybody’s nerves. As if that wasn’t enough, in all of the pictures, Peck is also seen sporting afro hair.
As soon as the pictures emerged, Twitter was swamped with outrage. While a few have trashed him mercilessly for being extremely racist, the rest of them, who are disgusted with the tattoo artist, want to stop watching ‘Ink Master’.
One of his former fans wrote, “Well, everyone who's ever been distressed by my attraction to Oliver Peck can now rest easy, because it evaporated with this headline. Fuckin gross.”
“Hearing shit about Oliver Peck SUCKS. The tattoo and riding community need to do better and as for Katie Sellergren, I believe you and fuck rape apologists,” another tweeted.
“I will not be watching as long as you have Oliver Peck as judge,” expressed one of the fans.
Another super agitated Twitter user went on to share, “hey don't forget oliver peck is a racist, sexually abusing, misogynist piece of shit alright have a groovy night!”
Many drew comparison between the tattoo artist’s latest pictures and Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau’s brownface photo from his private school party in 2001.
“How #dumb and #racist can people be, let’s find out. "Ink Master" star Oliver Peck is learning the same lesson Justin Trudeau learned about #blackface - the pictures will emerge eventually, and it's never a good look. #inkmaster,” one of them wrote.
