Oklahoma man accused of raping 4-year-old girl inside McDonald's restroom during daycare field trip
MIDWEST CITY, OKLAHOMA: An Oklahoma man has been arrested and jailed on charges of rape and sexual assault after authorities found that he had sexually abused and assaulted a four-year-old girl in a bathroom at a McDonald's play area.
The child had been visiting the fast-food joint on a daycare field trip. According to the Midwest City Police, a daycare worker had knocked on the locked-up bathroom door when the girl did not return for quite some time.
According to a police affidavit, a man eventually came out and shared, "I was just washing my hands." The child then told the daycare workers that the man, who was identified as 37-year-old Joshua David Kabatra, sexually abused her. The child told the caretakers that Kabatra had touched her genitals with his hands and his own genitals.
Kabatra then told authorities that he had been feeling sick and had thrown up in the bathroom when the child was on the toilet, according to a report by News 9. Kabatra is presently in an Oklahoma City prison. Court records don't list an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
When officers arrived on the scene, they were informed that the child's minders had allowed the girl to go to the restroom alone. On noticing that she had not returned for a while, they went in to check on her when they found Kabatra emerging from the bathroom.
The Midwest City Police shared that they had responded to a restaurant near SE 15th and Air Depot to investigate a call about a disturbance. A spokesperson for McDonald's shared that they were "disturbed by the incident".
They added, "At McDonald's, nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our customers. We are deeply disturbed by the incident that occurred at one of our Oklahoma restaurants earlier this week. We are fully cooperating with the police during their investigation."
The 37-year-old was arrested on two counts of rape and one count of lewd acts with a child after the incident which took place at a McDonald's in Midwest City, Oklahoma, stated a Fox report.
