Officials investigating the unexpected death of Chris Daughtry’s stepdaughter -- Hannah Price -- have said that it’s “irresponsible” to call it a “homicide”. The 25-year-old was found dead inside her home in Nashville on Friday, November 12, and the Fentress County Sheriff's Office and the Regional Forensic Center soon started their investigation into the case, as stated in a press release from the District Attorney for Tennessee's 8th District.
The release added, “This is a death investigation and any attempt to classify it as a homicide investigation at this time is premature and irresponsible. Further, no one has been arrested pertaining to the death of Ms. Price. Once the investigation into the death of Hannah Marie Price is complete, authorities will forward their findings to the Eighth Judicial District Attorney Generals Office for review.”

The day when Price’s remains were found, her boyfriend -- Bobby Jolly -- was also taken into custody in Fentress County. But his arrest is said to be not related to Price’s death. Houston Hamblin, the public information officer for Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, noted, “He [Jolly] is at our facility for a completely unrelated situation.”
But one of Price’s friends called out Jolly on Instagram for taking her friend “away”. In one of Jolly’s Instagram posts, the woman identified as @fitness_savvy95 wrote, “Can’t believe you took my friend away from me! I should of called her on Friday! You took a special person away from this planet her and I had plans to see each other this year and you took her away! You evil piece of scum.”
Meanwhile, the sudden death of Price has left Chris and his family devastated. The former 'American Idol' contestant, who has been nominated for four Grammys, took to Instagram to share an emotional post that read, “I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken. I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately. We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it’s another huge hit to our family.”
“Thank you all for your kind words and condolences. They are truly felt and appreciated. I am now taking time be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss. Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply,” he noted.
Price’s biological mother and Chris’ wife, Deanna, also expressed her unbearable grief in a social media post. She wrote, “My first born. I love you endlessly Hannah. Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of our daughter Hannah. We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death. Our hearts are broken.”
The tragedy struck months after Price and Jolly were arrested after being reportedly involved in a road rage incident. At the time, the duo was pressed with aggravated assault charges after they allegedly shot at another car while escaping from the scene. A .22-caliber rifle was also found in their possession.
