Griffin Kinard, the man who punched a woman in a New York City subway, has sparked considerable outrage on social media, with many calling on the New York Police Department to arrest him.

Video footage from the incident was originally posted on TikTok. Text overlay on the video reads, "This man was already tight off life when he came in the cart telling ppl to GTFO of him and his kids' way. All she said was he needs a chill pill & his kids repeated it to him and it just went up from there."

The video shows the man shouting at the woman, saying, "Say it to my face now. Tell me to take a chill pill. Say the word 'chill pill'". Continuing to verbally attack the woman, he says, "Mind your business!" several times. "It ain't about being a role model if I get my f*cking respect from people like you." Before the video runs out, he says, "When my family is on the train, move out the way." At one point in the video, the man is seen smacking the woman across the face with a full fist when she tells him to calm down.

It was unclear who the person in the video was until popular TikToker @tizzyent posted a video talking about the incident on social media, where the brother of the assailant revealed his identity. "Unfortunately, this individual is my brother and his name is Griffin Kinard," Quinten Kinard wrote in the comments section of the video. "My family and I don't condone this f*cking disgusting behavior." The alleged assailant resides in Brooklyn, New York, per his LinkedIn profile.

Social media was inundated with calls to have him arrested for his unacceptable behavior.

"This guy, @griffin_kinard, not only slapped a woman simply for telling him to “take a chill pill,”(as he was screaming at everyone to gtfo out him and his kids’ way), he slapped her in front of his kids and a full subway car. @NYPD, you gonna get him or what?" one Twitter user wrote.

"This man, Griffin Kinard, needs to be arrested. He kept saying he demands respect, but his actions show he doesn't deserve any respect. When you slug someone, especially a woman who is half your size, the only thing you should get is jail time. I hope the NYC cops track him down," a comment read.

"Part of me hopes NYPD arrest Griffin Kinard, but the larger part of me hopes some 'concerned citizens' convene a meeting with him in a dark alley and conduct his funeral in a dumpster. Maybe feed him chill pills until he chokes to death," another chimed in. 

Some others slammed Kinard's fellow commuters on the subway car for failing to intervene in the incident.

"Griffin Kinard, confirmed no one stepped up for that woman on the train that day. Let's see what we can do about that now!" one tweeted.

"Bunch of coward Beta Males gasp and do nothing while that low life sack of shit insecure black racist woman beater pops that lady in the side of the head for telling him to relax. Griffin Kinard, I hope you get yours and your funeral is in a dumpster in a back alley!" another added.
