NRA publishes magazine headline 'target practice' next to Nancy Pelosi, Gabby Giffords in controversial cover spread
Giffords, in 2011, was shot in the head in a failed assassination attempt in Arizona when she was out meeting with community members

The National Rifle Association (NRA) is facing heavy criticism over their recent magazine spread, with a large headline reading "Target Practice" placed strategically next to the pictures of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Rep. Gabby Giffords, a victim of gun violence.
Giffords, in 2011, was shot in the head in a failed assassination attempt in Arizona when she was out meeting with community members. The former lawmaker survived the attack and went on to found Americans for Responsible Solutions, a super pac that supports gun control initiative. The group, in 2016, was rebranded as "Giffords".
