WINSTON-SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA: A popular and tenured English professor at Wake Forest University in North Carolina has been put on leave after photos of him naked and masturbating came to light. Faculty members reportedly said that Dr Omaar Hena had been sharing the explicit pictures for the past seven years.

As per the publication, it was in early February that rumors about the said pictures started doing the rounds. According to the Old Gold & Black, Hena may have known his students were aware of the explicit photos but continued to post them online. Now, it seems they have been deleted.

Hena, who has been a professor at the university for 15 years, was placed on leave only a few weeks later. Neither he nor the university has commented on the issue so far.

Hena reportedly posted very risque content on Reddit. Many students started following him on Instagram, where some of the explicit photos were posted as a result of the rumors. As per reports, he even started speaking to certain students on the app.

Old Gold & Black reported that Hena messaged a sophomore on February 10 at 6.40 pm, stating, "Thanks so much for following!" with a purple heart emoji. "Of course!" the student responded, to which Hena said, "Love your queer energy. And I've been a fan of wake radio people forever."

Hena had posted an Instagram picture of him in an Aladdin costume in a classroom with the message, "I can show you the world." A person commented on the post, "Has anyone requested a magic carpet ride yet?" His response was, "OMFGG, I wish!" per the Daily Mail.

'Dirty dirty boy'

Hena's Reddit content was far more explicit, with a video of him shirtless that was seen by the publication. According to Old Gold & Black, he was videotaped touching his genitals while gazing into the camera. The photos have risque captions including, "Want ride?" or "dirty dirty boy."

The university policy reportedly states, "Faculty are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with generally accepted standards of conduct and behavior for the profession."

Hena received the highest possible rating on Rate My Professor from a student who wrote, "His online persona is inappropriate. However, he is a great professor with great insight on the topics he teaches," in a post from February.
