'Karen' calls cops on Black and Latino residents for using their neighborhood pool as she didn't recognize them
An unknown and unidentified woman has been caught on camera demanding that two Black and Latino residents prove that they live in the neighborhood by telling her their address. The video was filmed in North Carolina earlier this week and shows a white woman questioning two people as she did not personally recognize them. She also accused the two of trespassing into her neighborhood to use the pool even though both lived there.
The 'Karen' is seen sporting a yellow top as she holds up her phone as if she was going to place a call. The woman shouts, "I know everyone who lives here." One of the residents, a female, responds saying, "You know me?" from behind the camera.

'Karen' tells the resident, "No, I know who lives here and who doesn't." The resident then asks, "You know who lives here?! You know who lives here?" Karen replies saying, "Yeah, I do!" The resident then questions her, "How do you know that I don't live here?!" to which 'Karen' says, "Let me tell you how. Because I was here when this neighborhood was built and I know every single person who bought in here. I've been here since 2010."
The resident asks the woman, "Are you serious right now?" and the woman says, "So serious." The resident again asked, "So you know everyone that lives in my neighborhood?!" as the male resident replies, "We do live here, we do."
During the argument, 'Karen' even asks the two residents to hand over their address to her to which they replied saying, "I'm not giving you my address!" After the argument, the woman even called the cops on the residents.
A Twitter user with the handle '@potaytofairy' posted the video online along with the caption, "We met a karen today who called the cops on us for hanging out at OUR neighborhood pool because she didn’t believe we lived there."
The name 'Karen' has been given to white women who use their privilege to exert their power.
