The tragic story of Nicole Linton: Life fell apart after Olympian BF Germaine Mason's death in 2017 motorcycle crash
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicole Linton, an ICU nurse who allegedly rammed her vehicle into another car and killed six on August 4, had reportedly worked in strip clubs and has a history of bad breakups. She struggled after Olympic silver medalist Germaine Mason, whom she had planned to marry, was killed in a 2017 motorcycle crash.
Nicole is currently in custody on six murder charges in the LA crash on August 4. Among those who died in the accident was a pregnant woman, Asherey Ryan, 23, whose almost-to-term baby was ripped from her womb on impact. Alonzo, her one-year-old child, and the father of her unborn baby, Reynold Leyster also died in the crash. However, the two other female victims remain unidentified.

The officers have found no elements of alcohol or drugs in Linton’s system to use as evidence. However, she had reportedly argued with her boyfriend before getting into her black Mercedes-Benz. Her lawyers argue that Nicole has a history of profound mental illness. According to a Daily Mail report, Nicole had a tumultuous past, including several years working as a cocktail waitress in a series of New York City strip clubs. Those who knew her only had great things to talk about her. Nicole has conveyed to her friends that she planned to marry British Olympic silver-medalist Mason, a close friend of world record-holding sprinter Usain Bolt. Mason, however, was killed in a motorcycle crash while visiting Jamaica in April 2017.
A source who spoke to Daily Mail stated, "Nicole was different after that. She really loved that guy. She said they’d spoken about marriage. I don’t think she’s ever got over that, I wondered when I saw what had happened if she was trying to take her life the way her ex lost his". Nicole grew up in Mount Vernon, New York, one of three daughters of a couple who had immigrated from Jamaica. She was a bright student who got into Howard University where she received a BA in Marketing in 2007 and also made it to the Dean's List. However, mental health issues of pointed out by her lawyers have been all too apparent for many years. A friend who has known her for more than a decade said, "She was wild. It was a wild cycle of partying and drinking and going out, that whole club world." Some of them also stated that she had a bad relationship with alcohol. Linton worked as a sales manager for General Motors in New York's Westchester County.
Former Sin City manager Diaz who worked with Nicole stated she was "just an extremely nice girl, who worked as a waitress for him for about two years and never gave him a day of trouble. He said that when he first saw pictures of Linton in the dock, "this disturbed woman with crazy hair" he didn’t recognize her as the girl he knew as "our Nicole" "This whole thing just seems extremely out of character. She was hard working and cordial and kind." he stated. Nicole has recently moved to Texas and then became a traveling ICU registered nurse in 2020. Diaz further stated Nicole's life could be a Shakespearean tragedy.
