Jermon Bushrod revealed that his week-old baby daughter had passed away and that there were some 'issues' before she was born
The lineman for the New Orleans Saints, Jermon Bushrod, wrote a devastating message on his social media account this weekend where he announced the tragic death of his week-old baby daughter.
The 12-year veteran of the NFL posted two images of his infant, Jordyn Lynn Bushrod, on his Twitter account on October 20 that showed her small hand wrapped around a finger and the second of her tiny head resting on her father's chest.
34-year-old Bushrod from King George, Virginia, wrote in the caption: "My heart has been broken. My baby girl Jordyn Lynn Bushrod passed away Thursday, October 18th. She was only here for a week but we were ready to love her unconditionally. We will get through this with faith, family and friends. Thanks for prayers and support."
ESPN reported that Bushrod was practicing with his NFL team on October 18 and 19 but did not go to the game in Baltimore against the Ravens which his team won 24-23. Bushrod did not go into many details of how his infant daughter died but he mentioned in his Instagram post that the baby had some "issues" before she was born.

"Having you leave this earth after 1 week just hurts. My kids are my ❤️ and to never see you again will be tough BUT our GOD will get us through this. We appreciate all the love and support that have been directed our way. Rest in Paradise ‘Jo-Jo’ and I will miss you forever baby girl😘."
Many of his fans were left stunned by the news that the grieving father shared on his social media and one of his supporters was teammate Benjamin Watson who is a tight end for the Saints.
Watson wrote in a tweet: "We are with you. We love you. We are praying for you and mourning with you as best we know how. May God provide divine comfort to your entire family during this time and the days and years to come."
Another teammate, Zach Line, who is a running back for the Saints, just wrote "Love you man" on Bushrod's Twitter. Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth also shared a sweet message for his fellow NFL player and friend. He said in a tweet: "Prayers for you and your family brother! Praying love is wrapped around your family."
The NFL player was drafted into the Saints back in 2007 and played left tackle during their run in the 2009 Super Bowl season. According to ESPN, he played for the Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins before he went back to the Saints in free agency in 2017.
