Yankees vs Indians vs Presidential debate: NY fans glad team's dominating, say 'can switch to the debate now'
The MLB Playoffs are underway as the New York Yankees take on the Cleveland Indians in a three-game series on Tuesday night. At the time of writing, the Yankees were dominating 7-2 by the End 5. Ahead of the game, much of the chatter revolved around the starters of both sides. Shane Bieber and Gerrit Cole of the Indians and Yankees were matched-up with the duo having an ERA above 150. The game was played at the same time as the Presidential debate and had Twitter torn between the game and the debate.
Talking about the situation that demanded constant switching of channels, sports writer Steve Ramirez was a relieved man. "Thank you Yankees for dominating the Indians early so we can switch over to watch the debate..." he tweeted.

And a bit more of wisecrack that followed. "The Yankees are winning 7-2 in the top of the 6th. There is no debate about that," read Ari Fleischer, the former White House press secretary's tweet.

However, guess having two TVs solves the issue.

Meanwhile, the Yankees fans had every reason to rejoice and they had Gerrit Cole to talk about. "Gerrit Cole is the first #Yankees pitcher to have 10+ strikeouts in a postseason game since this guy had 11 in Game 2 of the 2012 ALCS against the Tigers. One of the more under appreciated Yankees of the last decade," read one of the comments.

Indians pitcher Bieber had a forgettable outing and for some, it was just the unpredictable nature of the game. "Feels so good to have been the one to tell everyone that anything can happen in the playoffs anytime. Even the Yankees hitting Bieber. Anything can happen, and anyone can have a bad day. Don't forget it," a fan opined. Bleacher Report gave a quick look at Bieber's numbers calling it a tough day for the ace. "Triple Crown winner Shane Bieber’s first postseason start tonight vs. the Yankees: 4.2 IP 9 H 7 ER (ties career-high) Tough night for the ace."

So what are you watching? The Presidential debate or the Yankees game?
