MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: The dismembered and decapitated body of a tech CEO has been found inside a Lower East Side apartment on Tuesday afternoon, July 14. According to reports, the limbless, headless torso of Fahim Saleh was first found by his sister inside his posh Manhattan condo. When the police responded to the scene, they found contractor bags near the torso in the $2.25million apartment, which the 33-year-old bought last year. Saleh’s sister called 911 after finding her brother’s dismembered body. She reportedly came to his seventh-floor condo at around 3:30 pm to see him after not having heard from him for around a day. The LinkedIn page of Saleh describes him as the CEO and founder of Gokada, "a motorcycle ridesharing company that has completed over one million rides since launching in 2018."

NYPD spokesman Sgt. Carlos Nieves said: “We have a torso, a head that's been removed and legs. Everything is still on the scene. We don’t have a motive.” Police sources said that investigators were waiting for fingerprint and forensics tests on the body, the Daily News reported.

Saleh’s body was reportedly cut with a power saw since investigators found one at the scene which was still plugged into an electrical outlet. While one of the law officials said that detectives are investigating whether the arrival of the victim’s sister at the apartment interrupted the killing, prompting the accused to flee through another exit.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage at the condo showed Saleh entering the elevator at around 1:40 pm Monday, July 13. The surveillance video also reportedly showed the victim’s alleged killer following him into the elevator while wearing a suit, a hat, a mask over his face, and gloves. As soon as Saleh got out of the elevator on his floor, he immediately fell to the ground, possibly shot or stunned. “The perp had a suitcase. He was very professional,” one police source said.

It has also been said that Saleh looked confused while apparently interacting with the alleged killer as the two rode the elevator together. The suspect attacked the victim as soon as he stepped out into his apartment, sources said as according to The New York Post. A source from law enforcement has described the crime scene as a “professional” killing because no traces of blood were found and the apartment was not looted. While another source said that the hitman was probably “interrupted”. “It didn’t look like the perp was done,” the source added.

Local resident Danny Faust said that a woman possibly Saleh’s cousin, who found the body, “was really upset. Crying. Shaking. She was just sitting there but you can tell her legs were shaking. She’s nervous. She was crying like, you know, wiping her eyes.” “She was screaming when she first came down,” the 40-year-old mentioned.

Faust also said that when he saw the police arriving at the scene, he went over to the building to know what exactly happened. “Dead body? Okay. But when you hear chopped up and dismembered? That’s it. That’s a sick type of mind for somebody to do that,” he added. While another neighbor, Jason Rivera, said: “It’s shocking. It’s gruesome. What could possibly be going through someone’s mind to decapitate him? Pure evilness.”
