New York City: On January 9, 2024, the New York International Children's Festival (NYICFF) announced its plans to honor Uma Thurman, the Academy Award-nominated actress, activist, and longstanding NYICFF juror, at this year's Annual Benefit. Thurman will be celebrated for her significant artistic contributions to film and television, her philanthropic dedication to projects benefiting women and children, and her unwavering support for fostering a vibrant film culture for kids during her many years of service as a NYICFF juror.

The Annual Benefit is scheduled to take place on February 1, 2024, at Scandinavia House. Alongside the tribute to Thurman, the event will feature a 'Not for Kids' short film program, showcasing films submitted to the Festival that are not suitable for children but warrant sharing with a mature audience.

Thurman has devoted her time and efforts to the welfare of children, both in her personal and professional life. She is a mother of three and holds the position of ambassador and founding Board Member at Room to Grow, an organization that provides support and essential resources to low-income families and children from newborns to three years old. Uma Thurman's association with NYICFF, as both a juror and active participant, spans over a decade.

Nina Guralnick, the Executive Director of NYICFF, expressed their gratitude, stating, "We are incredibly fortunate to have Uma's unwavering support. She has been a dedicated juror and participant for nearly 14 years, and we are thrilled to formally recognize her invaluable contributions as an ambassador, industry leader, and activist at our annual benefit event."
