Buckingham Palace released never-before-seen photos of the Queen and the late Prince Philip surrounded by all their great-grandchildren and it has gone viral since. Many royal supporters and fans shared and retweeted the image with well-wishes and condolences. There were also those who asked the more pertinent questions - where is Archie in all the photos, how is he missing?

In the photo that was recently posted to the Royal Family’s Twitter account on Wednesday, April 14, the Queen and the late prince can be seen with seven of their great-grandchildren. Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, died on Friday, April 9, 2021, at the age of 99. It has already been discussed how it is a "shame" that Prince Philip would have never got to know Archie and Harry's soon-to-be-born daughter. And when the photos were posted minus Archie, it sent many on social media speculating.

Picture perfect

The newly released image on the official Instagram account of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as well as the Royal Family account was taken in 2018 by Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge aka Kate Middleton. Archie was born on May 6, 2019, so there is no way the one-year-old could be part of this family picture.

From left to right, the photo includes - Prince George of Cambridge; the Queen, holding Prince Louis of Cambridge; Princess Charlotte of Cambridge; Philip; Mia Tindall, holding Lena Tindall; and Isla Phillips. Isla's sister Savannah Phillips is pictured standing behind the couch. As many on social media praised the Duchess of Cambridge's photography skills, there were those who asked about Archie's whereabouts totally forgetting his birthdate and some even sent a few jabs the way of his parents, Harry and Meghan Markle.

"Where is Archie?" one asked. "How sad it’s going to be when Archie comes of age and sees all his cousins posing with their great grandmother THE QUEEN! and he isn’t there. The lies he’s going to grow up believing. How very very sad," one user said. Another user commented, "It’s quite funny how the royal family are releasing pictures of Philip with the family but none of them include Meghan or Archie. Makes it seem like they aren’t part of the family anymore."

Asking for Meghan's family, a user commented, "I see that you left out Megan Markle's picture with Prince Harry and Prince Philip. So she's not part of the family."

Kensington Palace had recently also released a photo of Philip and George together sitting in a horse-drawn carriage, "I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandpa coming to collect them in his carriage and seeing for themselves his infectious sense of adventure as well as his mischievous sense of humor," William said. Archie, sadly, does not have any such memories of his grandfather.

Jabs at Meghan and Harry

Taking a jab at Harry and Meghan while clearly siding with Kate Middleton, a user tweeted, "Lovely picture and no it’s not Kates fault Archie isn’t in it he wasn’t born! And don’t forget Harry & Meghan moved him away from the racist royal family. Leave your titles at the door please do." Another user said, "So many comments about Archie not being included. Maybe he would have been if H&M had bothered to come to balmoral or Sandringham after he was born. It’s not the other royals’ fault that Archie isn’t in any pics. His parents deliberately excluded him. This family is in mourning."

Coming back to the accusations of racism against the Royal family, one user commented, "Lord Jesus I just had a big scare. I was looking through those @RoyalFamily pictures wondering if I would see Meghan or Archie. Thankfully I didn't. I was so worried that they would be pictured with a pack of racists." Another tweeted, "Wm made sure to put out a pic of the great grands that didn’t include Archie. Which I was enraged by until I read your take. But we all know wee Willy meant to be cruel, so I’m still."

But it is not like photos with Archie aren't released at all. In 2019, the palace released a photo of the Queen and Philip meeting their eighth great-grandchild, Archie. The picture shows Meghan showing her son to the royal couple. Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland and husband Harry are also present.
