The battle for the seed continues to hang in the balance as the New Orleans Pelicans go against Sacramento Kings on August 11, 2020. As the two teams get set to go head-to-head against each other, here's what to expect from the match. And as their record show, Pelicans (2-4) and Kings (1-5) really need to level up their game this time.

New Orleans Pelicans Preview

When the NBA elected to bring 22 teams to the Disney bubble, the hope was that Zion Williamson's Pelicans would make a viable contender to win the ninth seed as they had the easiest strength of schedule of all teams. Instead, the Pelicans struggled to find wins in the game. They have recorded a 2-4 record with wins versus the Grizzlies and Wizards and losses to the Jazz, Clippers, Kings and Spurs. Though the Pelicans are still trying to make their spot, JJ Redick, Zion, Brandom Ingram and Derrick Favors remain the double-figure contributor. The Tuesday game will not have three Pelicans: Jrue Holiday, Williamson and Ingram. The Pelicans compete in the NBA as a member of the league's Western Conference Southwest Division.

Sacramento Kings Preview

Just like the Pelicans, Kings also failed to capitalize on their easy strength of seeding games. Their record is even worse, they have played six matches out of which they have won just one. Their five losses were against Spurs, Magic, Mavericks, Nets and Rockets. Sacramento won the opening (35-23) and closing frames (41-36) versus the Rockets. Their game with the Rockets showed some double-digit contributors like Buddy Hield (16), Bogdan Bogdanovic (13), DaQuan Jeffries (13), Jabari Parker (12), and Harrison Barnes (11). The Kings compete in the NBA as a member of the Western Conference's Pacific Division.
