Ghislane Maxwell directed Epstein staff to not look in their master’s eyes and never speak first, claims book

A new book has revealed that Jeffrey Epstein's employees were forbidden from looking at him straight in the eye. Titled 'Relentless Pursuit: My Fight for the Victims of Jeffrey Epstein' by Bradley Edwards, a lawyer representing numerous Epstein victims, the book details the eyebrow-raising policy that was enacted by Epstein confidante Ghislaine Maxwell, who was arrested last week on charges of sex trafficking and enticement of minors.

The book reveals that the rules imposed by the British socialite on Epstein's staff were derived directly from a Buckingham Palace servants’ guide - one of them being that staff had to always remain in the background and couldn't speak their employer unless spoken to. Another rule reportedly mentioned in the book reads, "The staff never look the master, Jeffrey Epstein, in the eye.”

Former Epstein Butler Juan Alessi told Edwards that the rules came into effect soon after Maxwell began working for the billionaire pedophile in 1991. “Ghislaine was deeply controlling and did things Juan did not appreciate,” Edwards told the New York Post.

Alessi said he was required to drive Maxwell around Palm Beach so she could recruit masseuses for Epstein, who tended to be young women including girls as young as 14. According to the Post, Maxwell loved taking nude photographs of the girls. After each massage session, Alessi said he would be directed to clean up the room -- where he would find sex toys such as used dildos. The Butler would pick up the toys with rubber gloves, wash them, and put them in a laundry basket of sex toys that Maxwell kept in her closet.

But Maxwell claimed in a previous deposition she knew nothing about Epstein's abuse of young women and was unable to recall possessing sex toys. According to the Post, a copy of Edwards' book was found at Maxwell's bedside when authorities arrested her at a million-dollar mansion in rural New Hampshire on July 2. The author told the outlet that he thinks Epstein's former girlfriend was reading his book to understand what he knew about her, adding that Maxwell and Epstein shared a "desire for control."

Edwards said he is prohibited from discussing a 2016 deposition in a defamation lawsuit brought on by Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, adding that it contained "more surprises."

Ghislaine Maxwell is the daughter of late British media mogul Robert Maxwell and a longtime close associate of Epstein. According to the indictment against her, she is accused of facilitating his crimes and often participating in the abuse. Maxwell has been described by a number of Epstein's victims as his chief enabler, who roped in young girls for him to abuse. So far, she has denied any wrongdoing and called the allegations against her "absolute rubbish."

A team of federal agents arrested the British media heiress at her $1 million estate in New Hampshire last week. Investigators said they had been tracking her movements all along and knew she had been hiding out in various locations in New England.

As we previously reported, prosecutors revealed how Maxwell had switched her email address, was ordering packages on someone else's name, and had registered a new phone number under an alias "G Max".
