'New Amsterdam' Season 3 Episode 10: Is Sharpwin finally off the cards? Fans upset as Helen 'friendzones' Max
'New Amsterdam' seems to be finally listening to fans and had more than enough romance in the latest episode. It even seemed that there was finally a use for Dr Helen Sharpe's (Freema Agyeman) sullen niece Mina who served as an unlikely matchmaker for Helen and Dr Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold). At least she managed to get the two to have a real conversation finally, in which Max discovered that Helen was single again. Sharpwin fans were convinced that this was the moment they were waiting for all season. When Max and Helen found themselves on the rooftop at the end of the day, it seemed like a kiss was inevitable.
But it seems that the writers of 'New Amsterdam' have taken Sharpwin off the table for now. Max reaches out to comfort Helen about her breakup with Dr Cassian Shin (Daniel Dae Kim) and while the two seem like they're moving in for a kiss, at the last moment Helen tells Max that she is happy that they are friends.

But fans got at least one kiss on the episode, with Dr Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery) and Leyla (Shiva Kalaiselvan) taking their relationship to the next level. While initially, Lauren pulls back from Leyla's kiss, she certainly seems to think better of it and the two share a passionate kiss at the end of the episode that had fans cheering. One fan tweeted, "Well we got “a kiss” it ain’t “the sharpwin kiss” we asked for but a kiss for Leyren at least. I now know with this show you have to be extremely specific with what you ask to leave no room for misinterpretation.#NewAmsterdam". Another tweeted, "AT LEAST WE GOT #LEYREN #NewAmsterdam".
