Dr. Lauren Bloom showed both extraordinary mental and emotional strength on 'New Amsterdam' and fans are applauding her for it. While Max and Helen are dealing with a dying escapee inmate and Martin and Iggy are sorting out their marital problems, Dr. Lauren Bloom is performing surgery on a patient whose appendix is on the verge of rupturing - with a broken leg.

Her romantic interest, Dr. Zach Ligon, who she also appointed to administer her medicines owing to her past of drug abuse, helps her up on her feet as she saves the poor woman's life even though she's in incredible pain herself. It's a sweet but incredibly risky move that could jeopardize Bloom's mobility forever and of course, possibly screw up the surgery. However, Bloom comes through with Ligon's help only to realize later that he had been stealing her pain medication.

She grabs his face after he confesses to her that he had fallen off the wagon. In an attempt to establish boundaries she says, "After you get out of rehab, don't call me, don't email me, don't text me." This is incredible for the character who has battled drug abuse in her past and had a hard time just prioritizing herself and fans see it.

"I like this doctor but Bloom just got out of rehab herself and she has to focus on her recovery and her sobriety and I'm glad she realized this and prioritized herself!! I LOVE A QUEEN!," wrote a fan, recalling the time Bloom had just gotten her life together only to be in a massive car crash and get severely injured. " What a fucking trooper, I now love her," wrote another. A third one tweeted, "Bloom's growing. It's such a nice thing to see"

"Can't love others until you love yourself," wrote another Twitter fan. "Lauren Bloom is a badass. She is on a bad leg and doing an emergency appendectomy. Another doctor holding her up," said a second one.

Fans also think that she shows how committed Bloom is to her job and helping people. "Dr. Bloom is always going the extra mile for her patients. Love her!" said one fan while another agreed, "Bloom putting her patient above herself and her medical care."

New Amsterdam airs Tuesdays 10 p.m. on NBC.
