'New Amsterdam' Season 2: Iggy and Dr. Kapoor make an iconic pair and we need to see more of them

Even though both have their own set of problems, their chemistry alone will add a whole lot of charm to the hallways of New Amsterdam and our TV screens.

There are many reasons to love 'New Amsterdam,' from the wholesome storylines that also seem realistic to the nuanced characters who come from different walks of life but understand and empower each other. No two people on the show do this more perfectly than Dr. Iggy Frome (Tyler Labine) and Dr. Vijay Kapoor (Anupam Kher).

While one is a gay psychiatrist, the other is a conservative Indian-origin neurologist. While one is extroverted and looks for reasons to celebrate life, the other is a guarded man who happens to make naive decisions that often land him in a pickle. Together, they make one iconic duo and make the NBC show all the more enjoyable.

In Season 1 we saw how despite their differences they form a beautiful friendship, because of which they are both able to evolve as human beings. And, even though Dr. Kapoor often gets annoyed with Iggy's inability to respect his personal space - ironical as it may seem for a psychiatrist - he does care for Iggy deeply and values his opinion.

We even saw him stepping in for Iggy when he was unable to treat a patient because he got in his own head, and even try to convince Iggy just how great a doctor he is. Over the episodes, we have also seen the duo fight like brothers, often times bouncing ideas off of each other while treating their patients, and even teaming up when they want something from Max (Ryan Eggold).

The upcoming Season 2 is not going to be immediately pleasant for anyone, considering how Season 1 ended. There is certainly going to be a death, but we can trust Iggy and Dr. Kapoor to lighten the mood. And, even though, both of them have their own set of problems, with one rethinking his entire method of treatment and the other having to reconcile with the idea that he may have been a bad father, their chemistry alone will add a whole lot of charm to the hallways of New Amsterdam and our TV screens.

Don't forward to watch the Season 2 premiere of 'New Amsterdam' on Tuesday, September 24 on NBC.
