'The Great British Baking Show': Is show not fit for family viewing? Fans say Matt's innuendos are 'ruining it'

'Not keen on the near the knuckle inuendo so maybe that makes me a prude but I feel it’s out of place in a baking competition,' a viewer commented

'The Great British Baking Show' is in its fourth week and fans are still having a tough time embracing Matt Lucas's entry on the show as co-host to Noel Fielding. They are having concerns over his innuendos that seem to be getting too much for them to digest.

In this week's episode, the bakers were tasked with the brownie challenge. They had an hour to bake a batch of the said confection. Unfortunately, none were able to pull it off with flying colors. Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith had the fiercest feedback for each of the bakers.

A little after the participants got to work, Matt visited them at their tables, as per the norm. But viewers seem to have gotten offended by the kind of jokes he has been cracking from the start. His interaction with Linda caught viewers' attention. As Linda opened the oven lid to check on the confection she had been making, she shared that it wasn't "as big as she'd like it to be," to which Matt responded with: "May be, if you stroke it, it will get bigger." Linda played along and said: "I might do, it usually works."

But the banter left the viewers a little weirded out. Some even said that Matt's jokes made it not fit for family viewing. "Matt is just not a presenter he’s trying to make it all about him. Ruining the show," a fan commented on the show's official Facebook page, while another shared: "Not a fan of matt , innuendo is one thing but his is just constant and out of the blue..... find it a bit weird tbh. And a bit uncomfortable to watch and im definitely not a prude."

"I just cringed as it's just predictable innuendo...not really for family viewing," a user expressed, another posted: "Getting a bit bored of the enuendos if I'm honest."

"I just watch it for the baking , not all the antics of Matt and Noel .Not keen on the near the knuckle inuendo so maybe that makes me a prude but I feel it’s out of place in a baking competition," a fan shared. "He is trying way too hard... the constant innuendos are annoying. I like it when it naturally flows...not when it's forced," another posted. "Fondly remembering a time when the hosts were there for the bakers. Now they're apparently there to distract them. Not a fan," a user wrote.
