'Elite' season 2: Christian knows about Carla and Polo's role in Marina's death, but will he confess to save his best friend Nano?

Season one's finale sees the investigation into Marina's death kick off with all the witnesses, including Christian, Polo, and Carla, accusing Nano. Nano was, in fact, arrested for the murder of Marina.

'Elite' season two has been confirmed to release on September 6 and the Spanish teen-drama has gained a large following for its captivating plot and characters. The Spanish Netflix series aired season one on October 8, 2018. The new season's release date was announced with a teaser video on Instagram that left fans excited for more drama in the upcoming season.

The teen series revolves around the adventures of new students who get a scholarship offer at Las Encinas High School, where children of an elite group of parents study. Three students from a local high school enroll in the private school and chaos ensues.

The three students — Samuel ( Itzan Escamilla), Christian (Miguel Herrán) and Nadia ( Mina El Hammani ) — have different perspectives and ideas about the school. The plot gets intense when the three try to fit in.

Christian's personality is so flamboyant and play-boyish that he doesn't really care about his education — he's very care-free and thinks of himself as a very good-looking chap. He begins to start liking a girl from his class Carla ( Ester Expósito) who has been dating Polo ( Álvaro Rico) for a long time.

Christian feels a constant attraction to Carla which she senses and flirts back. Carla and Polo, in fact, want to add more spice to their relationship and mutually plan to use Christian to obtain sexual pleasure. The three begin to have a threesome and develop a bond unlike any the school has seen.

One major highlight in season one is Marina's (María Pedraza ) death. And season two is set to explore the truth behind her death. While the last episode of season one does reveal who is behind her death, there's more to the story. Polo killed her to prove to Carla that he still loves her and Christian's involvement in their relationship shouldn't come as a hindrance.

He killed Marina because she had a watch that held very important information about Carla's dad's business and was confidential. If that watch landed in the wrong hands, it would spell the doom of the company. However, Marina only wanted to sell the watch to get money for her lover Nano (Jaime Lorente) so he could pay off his debt and they could run away together.

The sudden turn of events reveals that Polo, whose character is usually soft and submissive, has more to him than meets the eye. Viewers were in for a shock as they didn't expect him to even harm a fly, let alone kill a girl from his school.

Season one's finale sees the investigation into Marina's death kick off with all the witnesses, including Christian, Polo, and Carla, accusing Nano. Nano was, in fact, arrested for the murder of Marina.

The question that season two will have to answer is if the trio confesses about knowing the truth. Will Nano escape his predicament? Will Christian plead guilty and tell the police that it was Polo who killed Marina and not his best friend? We will only know when season two drops.
