Spoilers for 'Ozark' Season 3 Episode 5

‘Ozark’ has never played by traditional gender roles. The majority of women on the show have been way more powerful than their male counterparts and taken the center stage on multiple occasions.

Similarly, the series has also presented us with a few strange yet comforting relationships. Season 3 of 'Ozark' explores one such romantic and sexual relationship, which you might find hard to wrap your head around.

So far, Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery) was seen playing the mother for baby Zeke and giving a taste of her vengeance to anyone who questions her parenting methods. She has completely dedicated herself to Zeke and doesn't see even a bit of remorse in her past actions.

However, those of you who have seen Darlene and Jacob Snell (Peter Mullan) together would agree with us when we say they were one of the most tightknit couples in the series. They met at a young age and fell madly in love with each other. Or at least that's what Darlene made sure happened.

Although Jacob couldn't have found a better business associate than Darlene for himself, he dreaded her as a wife. All it took Darlene to get her husband out her way was a walk through the woods and the rest simply fell into place.

The current season, however, ups its game several notches by bringing Wyatt Langmore (Charlie Tahan) into Darlene's life. For Darlene, who has always placed her values and principles over everything, Wyatt refusing to take Ruth Langmore's (Julia Garner) money to bail himself out appeals the most to her.

In Episode 5, when Wendy takes Darlene to the court charging the latter for taking a swing at her, Wyatt comes to the former's rescue and testifies for her before the judge stating how good a parent she has been to Zeke.

And how does Darlene thank Wyatt for his deed? By embracing him with a kiss that ends up in them having sex.

As shocking as it comes across, we can't help but wonder what are her real intentions with Wyatt are. Though it seems like she's happy to have found someone who could appreciate her, it's only a matter of time before Darlene begins to find flaws in Wyatt.

Besides the whopping age gap, the duo is always driven by different motives. It remains to be seen if Wyatt, who has never tried cocaine in his whole life, can deal with Darlene's passion for supplying the best quality drugs.

'Ozark' Season 3 is available to stream on Netflix.
