'Upstarts': Release date, plot, cast, trailer, news, and all you need to know about the Indian movie on Netflix

The Hindi movie will follow the lives of three college grads as they launch an innovative startup business.

With the growth of startups in India, there’s an increasing number of young entrepreneurs setting out with new business ideas and wanting to change the world. ‘Upstart’ captures this rising trend and weaves it into the friendship of three college grads, their business struggles, partnership conflicts, and inevitable situations that ensue in each of their lives once the business takes off.

Release date:

The Netflix original is all set to release on Friday, October 18, 2019.

Plot:

The story of ‘Upstarts’ follows the lives of three friends, Kapil, Vinay, and Yash, each from a different small town in India. Captivated by the startup culture that is sweeping the nation, the trio decides to start a venture to deliver emergency medication to patients in a small town. Something like ‘Uber for medicines’, their business idea is aimed more at helping the lesser privileged and yet, not straying from the idea of making a profit. But, as with most business partnerships, their initial struggles and management ideas cause a rift in their friendship and take them on a journey of realization and discovery of their life goals and relationships. Packed with aspiration, a lot of bromance, and a touch of comedy, the movie takes you on a roller coaster ride of entrepreneurship.

Cast:

Priyanshu Painyuli, Chandrachoor Rai, and Shadab Kamal take the central characters of Upstart. Priyanshu has earlier made an appearance in Bhavesh Joshi Superhero (2018), Do, Ke Teen (2017), and Bawdi (2012). Actor Chandrachoor Rai is known for his work Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), Meri Pyaari Bindu (2017) and Ankhon Dekhi (2013). Shadab has appeared earlier in Chittagong (2012) and Gaon (2018).  Other cast members include Rajeev Siddhartha (prev. Bekaaboo), Sheetal Thakur (prev. Brij Mohan Amar Rahe), Ninad Kamat (prev. Airlift), Swati Semwal (prev. Fanney Khan), and Eijaz Khan (prev. City of Dreams).

Director/writer:

‘Upstarts’ is written and directed by Udai Singh Pawar, a debutant filmmaker. Udai has worked as an associate director on Airlift and with Sudhir Mishra on Inkaar.

News: Rajeev Siddhartha is new star 

Rajeev Siddhartha, an investment banker-turned-actor, is rising the ladder of online entertainment. After shows like Four More Shots Please! Romil & Jugal, and Kaushiki, Rajeev will be seen in Netflix’s upcoming movie ‘Upstarts’ and shares his journey with his fans.
