'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives': Fans slam show after 'super fake accents' hurt their ears

'The fake accents hurt my ears. Pure Nepotism. Trash. Flavorless,' a user commented

Aside from the extravagant and flamboyant lifestyle of the cast Bollywood star wives, another thing that caught their attention was the 'fake accent' that nearly every wife on Neyflix's 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives' seemed to be sporting. The show gives us a peek intothe lives of Bhavana Pnadey (wife of Chunky Panday), Neelam Kothari Soni (wife of Sameer Soni), Seema Khan (wife of Sohail Khan), and Maheep Kapoor (wife of Sanjay Kapoor).

Fans couldn't help but notice how these wives spoke to each other with very strange accents. While Neelam's accent can be attributed to her upbrining abroad, the bizarre accents of the other housewives made no sense. Fans also began wondering why these hosuewives weren't speaking Hindi with each other, or even their children, and were insisting only on speaking in Engluish.

In one of the episodes, we see Maheep meeting her nephew/ Bollywood celebrity- Arjun Kapoor, along with her son Jahan. During their conversation, Arjun looks at Jahan and asks what he wants to be when he grows up, Jahan replies actor. Arjun then asks him if he is aware that he needs to be able to communicate Hindi fluently in order to become an actor. Maheep intervenes and assures Arjun that Jahan has started learning to speak Hindi and will master it in few years.

Several fans took to their Twitter to express how they were left cringing with the cast members' accents and their refusal to speak Hindi. A fan tweeted, "So I'm busy watching the #FabulousLivesofBollywoodWives on #Netflix and the way they talk is so annoying. It's just some middle-age desi mausies that try to act the Kardashians. The fake accents hurt my ears  Pure Nepotism Trash  Flavorless." "#FabulousLivesofBollywoodWives - need alcohol to survive this. This is not RHONY level. What's with the super fake accents?" wondered another fan. 

Another fan commented, " 2 minutes and 47 seconds... and I'm done with this #FabulousLivesofBollywoodWives  * on a serious note : is it compulsory to fake accent ?!?" 'I am watching #FabulousLivesofBollywoodWives and I have no clue who the wives are? Just a bunch of badly dressed, desperate ladies speaking in a fake accent weirder than mine. It is cheese. I should be disenfranchised for watching garbage.," expressed a fan. "What is this crap #KaranJohar has produced called some #FabulousLivesofBollywoodWives ...they all sound terribly crappy with empty brains and fake accents." pointed a fan.
