There is good news for fans of Elena Ferrante's work. 'My Brilliant Friend' has just concluded the run of its second season on HBO much to the dismay of millions of fans. And the upcoming third season is going to be a long while away (having been just renewed). But Netflix is set to adapt her latest book 'The Lying Life of Adults' into a series.

The best-selling author of the Neapolitan Novels wowed audiences with the heartfelt story of two lifelong friends who try to make a living in tumultuous Naples. Not only is the tale a mesmerizing story about female friendships but also an ode to the different stages in a woman's life, written with such precision that women across the globe relate to it.

Ever since the news broke, Ferrante's fans and audiences of the beloved HBO series cannot contain their excitement at the prospect of getting yet another adaptation of Ferrante's literary brilliance.

"Elena Ferrante is a genius," one commented. "Best news I’ve heard all week!" a fan said.

The book by Ferrante is already out in Italian last year in November, but the English version, which was due to release in June, is now pushed to a September release. Even so, fans of the author can hardly wait.

"Omg i cannot wait for this !! my brilliant friend was such a beauty. i got so invested in the show that i picked up the books! the book will be out first --- aaaah!" added another excited fan. "Yay! can't wait to read it," concurred another.

"Honestly, every day is another day closer to all of The Lying Life of Adults hot takes, and I am just so excited for that twitter feast," tweeted a fan.

At the moment, we don't quite know who will be helming the Netflix adaptation. Since Ferrante has maintained her anonymity throughout her literary career, Saverio Costanzo (who worked with Ferrante on 'My Brilliant Friend') was closely in touch with her, but still doesn't know who she really is. Yet many believe that this might be a good project for Netflix.

"Best decision Netflix has ever made," tweeted a fan. "I love Elena Ferrante's books, can't wait to see how you bring it to the screen 🥺💞" added another.

The official release date for 'The Lying Life of Adults' is not announced yet. But we are waiting with bated breath.
