Since making its debut at this year’s Venice Film Festival, fans have been waiting to see Andrew Dominik’s ‘Blonde’ on Netflix and get to know why this movie is receiving such extreme reviews. The movie, based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates, is a fictionalized take on Marilyn Monroe’s life behind the camera and how she never got the life she deserved. The Netflix drama flick also explores how she transformed herself from Norma Jean to the charismatic Marilyn Monroe even when she’s enduring so much of abuse.

Overall, the movie has been a topic of discussion for a long time. A lot of people believe that ‘Blonde’ is just an addition to a long list of movies that exploits the women of Hollywood. Meanwhile, there are others who feel that Dominik’s movie is a “harrowing experience” and does nothing good for Monroe’s legacy. However, Ana de Armas has received universal acclaim for her riveting portrayal of the legendary Hollywood figure.

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter about playing Monroe in ‘Blonde’, the ‘Gray Man’ star noted that she said yes to the role because she wanted to “push” herself and had no fear in saying that the movie “changed her life”.

The Cuban-Spanish actor made her Hollywood with the 2015 movie ‘Knock Knock’ alongside Keanu Reeves. However, she garnered worldwide acclaim with her role in Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic ‘Blade Runner 2049’. Meanwhile, acclaimed movies like ‘Knives Out’, ‘The Night Clerk’, ‘No Time To Die’, ‘Deep Water’, and ‘The Gray Man’ took her popularity to a new level. With every movie, she shows the world how versatile she can carry a movie on her shoulders if given a chance and ‘Blonde’ is the perfect example.
