‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ alum Linnethia Monique ‘NeNe’ Leakes, on Tuesday, September 29, released a YouTube video on her official channel, titled, ‘Stop using me for click bait!’. In the video she addressed her leaving ‘RHOA’ and said that she knew that this decision was the right one for her and that she is “at peace” with it.

She also addressed her friend and talk show host Wendy Williams in the video. On September 27, Leakes slammed the reality show’s producer Andy Cohen, as well as Williams. During a Sunday night appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live’, Williams said that she did not think that Leakes' recent decision to quit ‘RHOA’ ahead of its 13th season would be a permanent one. "NeNe is my friend, and I know her as Linnethia, I don't know her as this person on reality TV, just what I watch," Williams told Cohen, adding, "I believe that this is not a truth."

"NeNe has quit the show several times and you'll have her back," Williams said. "NeNe likes attention, dramatic attention. I don't know what NeNe's going to be doing for money, I'm not trying to count coins, but the Housewives is that one thing that all the girls use to promote their other stuff."

Williams also called ideas for spinoffs surrounding Leakes "boring." She said, "And what are they gonna do? Is it gonna be Gregg and NeNe, you're gonna give them another reality show? That's boring. How about it NeNe being a grandmother? That's boring. NeNe and her own kids, that's boring. NeNe trying to figure out Hollywood, that's boring."

In response, Leakes fired off a series of tweets slamming Williams and Cohen and accusing them of using her to "help with their poor ratings”. She said, “Both are f their ratings are LOW! Bye QUEENS,” adding, “She on cocaine so they should stop using her to talk! They both need my help with their poor ratings.” She further said, “Keep trying me sir and imma let the world know who you really are,” adding, “I will ALWAYS eat and eat good! Believe that. I have ALWAYS believed in multiple streams of income so the leakes are good you ole cocaine head and you ole racist. No one knew you until YOU knew me. Remember I’m ICON. Don’t forget.”

Calling Cohen a racist, she said, “The racist is the master manipulator! They using me for ratings like they have always done,” and added, “They ALWAYS manipulating black women to say negative things about each other while they sit and enjoy us tearing each other down! Remember #BLM Remember #breonnataylor REMEMBER the most racist networks.” She also spoke of how she was treated as the only Black original member of the ‘Real Housewives’ franchises -- she had been with ‘RHOA’ since the very first season. She wrote, “We strictly talking the OG’s. I was the ONLY BLACK OG. My white counterparts were elevated and given full season episodes EVERY season. Each season i was given less & less. Don’t ask me, @ Andy and @ Bravo and ask them why.”

In her Tuesday video, Leakes said of Williams that she had considered her a “close friend or associate” but she did not know why she chose to say the things she said to Cohen. She said that Williams did not need to involve her family in this matter and that it was only after she spoke negatively about her on several occasions that Leakes decided to speak out.

She said, “Sis I have been forced out of the franchise. Leave my name alone.” She said that they should “stop poking the bear”. Near the end of the video, she told Williams, “Spend more of your time trying to figure out how you can drain your enormously large legs and feet, okay? As opposed to worrying about my family and what we are doing.”

Fans were already siding with Leakes after her tweets. Now, after the video, she received another rush of overwhelming support. One Fan wrote in the comments, “That’s right Nene! Let Andy and Wendy know! They have built their careers on talking negatively about people. Shame on Wendy! She is no one’s friend. That’s why her life is in shambles now.”

Another fan said, “Exactly, Love You Nene. Them speaking on you in a negative light was disrespectful and a slap in the face. But you’re legendary in reality tv and you have and made an impression on all your fans because you are raw, honest, and express some of the same feelings and emotions we all can identify with.”

Yet another fan wrote in the comments, “I agree with all you had to say and had been saying. You know this clip will be on their shows as they will try and grab viewing numbers where they can. You are getting on with your life, stepped away from the poolside to address these clowns.”
