When will 'NCIS: New Orleans' Season 7 return?

The season 6 finale of ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ saw Hannah Khoury receive an ominous warning from Deputy Director Van Cleef. Maybe, that will play an important part in the upcoming season

It’s been a while since we have seen Scott Bakula, Rob Kerkovich, CCH Pounder, Daryl Mitchell, Vanessa Ferlito, Necar Zadegan, and Charles Michael Davis together on screen. And it’s been an equally long time since we have heard ‘Boom Boom’ performed by Big Head Todd and the Monsters, week after week at the same time. It’s safe to say, we miss ‘NCIS: New Orleans’, and can’t wait for the show to arrive with season 7.

Where we left off

The season 6 finale of ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ saw Hannah Khoury (Zadegan), while unofficially investigating Deputy Director Van Cleef (Richard Thomas), stumble across some disturbing truths -- the man had a sexist track record. Agent Quentin Carter (Davis) even confirmed this. Despite Van Cleef lying in the face of the insurmountable evidence, Hannah had a victory. The season ended with Van Cleef leaving Hannah with an ominous warning.

What we'd like to see

Season 6 of the show delved deep into Dwayne Pride’s (Bakula) psyche and that made for some of the most interesting episodes of the season. And while he seems to have dealt with his monsters, for the time being, a look down that dark path again would always be interesting.

In season 7, we also definitely want to see more of Carter fitting in with the team that’s still healing from the death of Lasalle (Lucas Black). Carter too has been somewhat guarded. If that were to change, things would be better in the unit. We also hope to see more development in Gregorio and Sebastian’s bantery platonic friendship, as the two characters begin to move towards separate paths.

But most importantly, we want to see season 7 continue in the spirit of season 6, and take on more real-world issues and politics and include it in the story. ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ sets itself apart from procedurals with its writing and that is what we want to see more of.

When is it returning

On May 6, ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ was renewed for the seventh season. The show reportedly started shooting again on September 21. While there has been no word of any release date as of yet, season 7 of the show would likely come back on the air in November.
