NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Nashville school shooter Audrey Hale was gunned down by police in a flurry of bullets. The recently released bodycam footage of the officers shows the moment the attacker was neutralized at The Covenant School. Hale was on the second floor and was engaged in a gunfight before killing six people. The victims included three nine-year-old children and the remaining staffers of Hale's former school.

As per reports, Hale opened fire in The Covenant School, a church-run private elementary school on the outskirts of the city around 10.13 am. The shooter was armed with two rifles and a handgun and had precisely planned the killing. In his suicide-by-cop plan, the 27-year-old was shot four times by officers Englebert and Collazo. It took only five minutes for the authorities to find and kill Hale, according to Daily Mail

Audrey Hale fifth on list of female school shooters after Nashville tragedy

'They are heroes'

A representative for the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department disclosed on Monday night, March 27, about the officers who were part of the team that opened fire on Hale, killing him. Several people praised officials for responding quickly to the Covenant School killings, unlike Uvalde police. The shooter was born female but went by ‘Aiden and used the ‘he/his’ pronouns. The shooter was said to be full of ‘resentment’ that he had to attend school as a child. Hale shot and killed head teacher Katherine Koonce, church custodian Mike Hill and substitute teacher Cynthia Peak. Three nine-year-old students, identified as Hallie Scraggs, William Kinney, and Evelyn Dieckhaus, were also killed.

'I'm planning to die today'

Hale messaged a friend on Instagram and wrote, “I'm planning to die today. This is not a joke!!! You'll probably hear about me on the news after I die. This is my last goodbye. I love you. See you again in another life. 'Audrey (Aiden).” He also mentioned in his messages before carrying out the shooting that his parents were unaware and have no idea about the plans. As per police, he had ‘high functioning’ autism. The officials later discovered another two rifles from his home, and it is not revealed if they were registered in his name too.
